Park in the village, small car park on the right a few metres before the church, a few spaces in front of the town hall or after the church.
Preliminary remark: most of the hike is marked in blue, with small signs with arrows on a blue background.
(S/E) With your back to the church, take the street above that heads west (blue arrow).
Follow this small road which passes by a small wash house, then in front of the cemetery. At the first crossroads, turn left downhill.
A little further on, at the junction with a road, follow the path that descends opposite, heading south.
You will reach a vineyard path.
(1) Turn left. At the junction with a small road, go straight ahead. At the next road, turn right, along the wall of a house. Take the first path that goes up to the right.
Follow it to a crossroads, then descend to the left to a place called Bize.
(2) Turn right onto the path that descends, follow it and take the second path that climbs up to the right.
You will arrive at the D26; follow it to the right until you reach the Col de Durbize.
(3) At this pass, there is a crossroads with five roads. Take the path that climbs steeply to the right of the D18 (second road on the right) to the old telegraph station.
(4) Enjoy the panoramic view here, which is also the starting point for the discovery trail. Turn left onto this trail. There is an information panel about the telegraph and panels presenting the different Beaujolais wines.
Take the path that climbs to the right after the "Côte de Brouilly" sign, then a little further up, turn left to reach the Croix de Porte.
(5) Another crossroads. Take the path opposite, heading north-west.
At the next crossroads, take the path almost opposite, slightly to the right in a north-westerly direction, marked in blue. Follow this path straight ahead, ignoring all the paths on the right.
When you reach a road, turn right and follow it downhill to the next crossroads at La Pépinière.
(6) Go up the road on the left, ignoring the road on the right that leads to La Pépinière.
At the next junction, take the path on the right marked in blue. You will soon reach the Cave du Tailleur de Pierre crossroads.
(7) You can make a round trip to the Cave du Tailleur de Pierre by turning left. This shelter is located a few hundred metres further up on the left. It is underground but is marked by a small sign.
(8) Return to the previous crossroads.
(7) Take the path on the left heading north to the Pierre de Saint-Martin signpost. Then go up to the left; the stone is a few metres higher up on the right.
(9) The Pierre de Saint-Martin: this is a huge slab with a horseshoe-shaped imprint.
Return to the previous crossroads and take the path northwards to the Vernebois cross.
(10) At this crossroads, take the blue marked path opposite, heading towards Col de Fontmartin.
(11) Cross the road and take the path opposite. Go straight up, ignoring the first path on the left, then the second on the right. Follow the blue markings and turn right further up. Continue until you reach a barrier, cross it via a designated passage and go straight ahead. Follow the fence that runs alongside a small wood to the Dailly-le-Perdu barrier.
(12) At the junction of several hiking trails, take the path opposite and descend straight ahead to the Le Gros Houx hiking post.
(13) Turn right onto the path, which turns into a trail and then becomes steeper; follow the blue markings carefully. The trail will turn left and descend to the Changy stream.
(14) Turn left and follow the stream. Continue straight ahead until you reach a wide path. Turn right to descend onto the road. You will arrive at a place called Meunier.
(15) Turn left and follow the road that runs alongside the stream. You will arrive at the crossroads in the hamlet of La Tuillère.
(16) Turn right, cross the stream and head uphill towards Château du Thil. The path passes to the right of the château and joins the road.
(17) Go down to the left for about 100 metres and take the first road that goes up to the right (crossroads with a statue of the Virgin Mary on the right). Join a wine trail.
(18) Turn left and then immediately right to follow part of the vineyard path. This path has information boards explaining the work involved in vineyard cultivation. Follow this path until you reach the D164 road.
(19) Turn right and walk up to the church in Vauxrenard to return to the car park (S/E).
