Park in the small square in front of the post office.
(S/E) When leaving the car park, turn right (south) and follow the red signs. At the junction with Rue de la Forge, turn right onto a winding vineyard path before joining the Villié Morgon road. Turn right and follow this road to the junction at Tempéré.
(1) Turn right, ignore a path on the left and go straight on, passing behind the old Victor Puillat house. Continue on the path that climbs up to the place called La Gravelle. Cross the road to continue opposite and slightly to the right on a tarmac climb.
(2) Once on the flat, turn right onto a vineyard path. Follow this S-shaped path, then continue along the woods to the electricity pylon. Then follow the path downhill towards Col du Truges.
(3) When you reach the road, turn left and then right at the crossroads a few metres further on. At the three-way junction that appears immediately, ignore the two wide roads and take the very small one in the middle to begin a fairly steep climb. The road quickly turns into a path that winds through the vineyards and then leads to another small road. Continue straight ahead to reach the departmental road (D 18) and follow it carefully to the hamlet of Les Saignes.
(4) Once you have passed the intersection with a tree in the middle of the road, take a path on your right.
Follow this fairly steep path through meadows and moorland until you reach the next intersection.
(5) Turn left onto the path through the woods. After climbing a few steps, you will arrive at La Terrasse de Chiroubles and pass the tasting chalet.
(6) Take a small path on the left just before the main road. Follow this path along the hillside until you cross the main road again.
(7) Cross carefully and take the small road directly opposite. Follow this road on your right, pass the houses of Fonds Bateaux and continue along the path through the meadows and woods until you reach a small car park along the road. Take the road on the right until you reach the junction at Col du Fût d'Avenas.
(8) Turn right onto the D18 and follow it for a few dozen metres, then take the small road on the left, which then turns into a path. Turn right at the first intersection and continue downhill, passing a first path on your right. At the second intersection after crossing the woods, turn right.
(5) Turn left onto the "sentier des crus" (wine trail). Follow this path, which veers to the left and rejoins the one you left earlier.
(9) Continue downhill, turning right. Follow the path down to the Col de Durbize.
(10) Cross the intersections by cutting across the central reservation, walk a few metres to the right on the road towards Chiroubles and take the path on the left. Follow this path, which veers left between vineyards and meadows and then enters the undergrowth. Continue until you reach an intersection with three paths.
(11) Take the path on the right and follow it, ignoring several paths on your right. Then turn left towards a house. After passing it, turn right and continue downhill. The path turns into a road a little further on. At the fork a little further down, follow the road on the right and continue down a steeper slope.
(12) Turn right just before the Grille-Midi house and descend onto a cement path. At the bottom, turn left. Walk along the vineyards on your left and continue on the path that also veers slightly to the left. After a short descent, turn left onto the road.
(13) Just after the houses, take the path that continues straight ahead on the right. Follow this vineyard path, which veers to the left. When you reach the road after a few houses, turn right. Follow the road and, after a right-hand bend, take the path on your left.
(14) Cross the main road and continue on the road opposite, which bends to the right further on. Pass a three-way intersection and continue straight ahead to the castle.
(15) After the castle, turn left. At the next intersection, keep left on the road that goes uphill. After passing the small hamlet of Crozet on this road that veers to the right, continue straight ahead uphill. Once on the flat, ignore a small road on the right and join the main road.
(16) Turn right, then quickly left onto a smaller road. Follow it until you reach the village centre and the starting point of the hike (S/E).
