Departure from Colroy-la-Roche. Park near the town hall.
(S/E) Head to Grand-Rue and cross it at the crossroads. Take Rue des Pêcheurs at the corner of a restaurant. Cross the bridge and turn right (Anneau Vert and Anneau Jaune). Continue straight ahead, still on Rue du Pêcheur, until you reach a fork.
(1) Then turn left, cross the bridge over the Climontaine and follow Route des Charasses for about 50 metres. At number 4, leave the road, turn left and immediately turn right onto a path alongside a farm. Pass under a power line and climb a hill.
(2) Cross afirst track and, just opposite, climb a few metres off the trail through the undergrowth. Come out onto a path and follow it to the right (marked with a yellow ring + green ring).
(3) Cross another track and climb parallel to a power line. After a short steep climb, you will come out onto a third track.
(4) Follow this track to the right (still marked with yellow and green rings). At the end, follow a small road to the left and enter Stampoumont via Rue de la Chapelle.
(5) At the Stampoumont chapel, continue straight ahead. After about 100 metres, before the bend, first turn left then right onto Chemin des Vieux-Prés (Blue Triangle).
(6) At a three-way junction, turn right onto Chemin des Stations. Descend along the Way of the Cross (hence the name of the path). You will come to a viewpoint offering a magnificent panorama of the Ranrupt basin.
(7) Continue along the path, passing a military cemetery on your right.
(8) At the crossroads, turn left onto Rue du Hagis. At the end, follow Rue Principale to the left and enter Ranrupt.
(9) At the crossroads near the church, take thesecond right, Rue de l'École (Anneau Rouge).

(10) At the end of a right-hand bend before Haut-Ranrupt, turn left onto Chemin de la Croix (marked with a blue triangle + red ring + green ring). Less than 100 metres further up, the road turns left again under a short row of trees. Shortly afterwards, take a carriageway on the right, still uphill.
(11) At the intersection, continue straight ahead (north) following the markings. Enter the hamlet of Fonrupt and make a wide left turn. Cross the Fonrupt stream and follow the main street of the hamlet to the edge of the Brimbellière woods.
(12) At the fork, take the Chemin de la Brimbellière on the right. Climb up into the forest to ascend the Brimbellière and ignore all the paths on the right (stay on the marked path). At the end of the climb, you will reach a crossroads (mossy bench).
(13) Take the left-hand track (north-east; marked with a blue triangle + green ring).
(14) After about 400 m, take a sharp left turn (marked with a red ring + green ring). Descend gently and continuously, with several turns, including a very sharp right turn. After this turn, you will arrive at the Colroy-la-Roche viewpoint.
(15) Follow the downhill track to the left (ignore the track on the right which goes uphill with the yellow ring markings). Make a hairpin turn to the left and you will arrive at an intersection by the river.
(16) Continue straight ahead (west). Enter Colroy-la-Roche via Rue du Ban de la Roche. Ignore two streets on the right. At a fork, turn right and you will soon reach the town hall (S/E).
