This is a nice walk on quiet roads and Randall Bank path following dyke, It starts and finishes at good pub "The Jolly Farmer "PE12 0XQ".

Description of the walk

(S/E) The start and finish is in the car park of the Jolly Farmer pub PE12 0XQ. Leaving car park with back to pub turn left and follow road on footpath for 3/4 kilometre. 

(1) Turn right into minor road, passing primary school on your right, then passing Crown Hall Farm on your left and turn left towards WM2 proximately 1kilometer.

(2) Turn left signposted Holbeach St John's follow road for 1 kilometre.

(3) Turn left off road onto track following Randall's Bank for 1.5 kilometres.

(4)  Turn left onto road and follow back to the pub Jolly Farmer (S/E) .

Practical information

When on road walk on pavements if present otherwise face oncoming traffic on the right. 

Jolly Roger pub, to book a meal Tel: 01406 258383. On Wednesday and Thursday there are Senior menus to be tried.

Wildlife mainly birds egrets, skylarks and pheasants can be seen. Good walk if ground is wet.

This easy short walk along the Coronation Channel has many water birds to observe, Crested Grebe, Ducks, Swans, Herons sometimes Cormorants. Springfields is a major shopping outlet has all the facilities, coffee shops and lovely gardens to take a short break. Coronation Channel was created in 1953 following major flooding of Spalding following heavy rains rising River Welland coupled with a very high tide, so this relief channel was dug.
