Montigny-le-Tilleul walks

A pleasant circular walk in the woods near Charleroi. Discover part of the Eau d'Heure valley and the charming village of Jamioulx. The Eau d'Heure is a small river that flows into the Sambre at Marchienne-au-Pont. It gets its name from its unique ability to rise in an hour and fall just as quickly.

Here is a short, easy walk in the woods of Leernes and along the Sambre.

A little countryside, a little forest, a little town, a little of the Sambre with a lock and an old drawbridge, the Abbey of Aulne, Thuin, Hourpes, its strange castle and lots of forest to finish off – that's what's on the programme for this walk.

At the start, the hike offers an outdoor visit to the Château d'Ham-sur-Heure and the Sentier des Prairies du Château, which leads to the station, passing close to a waterfall and a half-bridge over the Eau d'Heure. After the station, the hike takes you over hill and dale through the forest for about 4.5 km before moving decisively into the countryside until you return to Ham-sur-Heure.

Around Thuin, a charming little fortified town, this short hike partly follows the Ravel 3 and Ravel line 109/2, passing through typical streets on the ramparts of Thuin and the magnificent Grand Bon Dieu woods.

This is a 10 km route through the countryside around the village of Laneffe, with a few wooded sections along beautiful paths. There is a large car park at the starting point. The walk begins by following part of the "Tour St-Eloi". This is the route taken by the St-Eloi procession during the village's traditional folk walk. From (4), it continues towards the heights of the village, where you can see the surroundings towards Charleroi. The end of the route gives pride of place to the green countryside before returning to the village.

Set off to explore the countryside and forests to the north-west of Florennes and north-east of Walcourt. This is south of Gerpinnes and the stronghold of the marches and pilgrimages of Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse.Shortly after setting off, the route passes the majestic Ferme de la Prévôté (information board) and the imposing church of Hanzinne.The walk passes through the outskirts of Tarcienne, in the national forest and then through the centre of Morialmé before reaching the villages of Hanzinelle and returning to Hanzinne. Starting from the dinosaur car park in Merbes-le-Château, the walk offers a loop through the Upper Sambre Valley, passing by the first two locks on the Belgian side and through the countryside overlooking the Hantes Valley.The route follows two pretty little sections of the tram line that once linked Binche to Montignies-Saint-Christophe.The architectural highlight of the route is the magnificent Château de Solre-sur-Sambre.

An easy route around the villages of Obaix and Buzet, passing by a few farms typical of the region.

Hike around the Rosseignies stream, at the top of a Senne watershed. Wide variety of surfaces and landscapes.

Inthe 19th century, the Dumont family founded the Établissements de Chassart, modernised agriculture and livestock farming and set up a sugar factory following the development of beet cultivation in the region. This was followed by the creation of a distillery and the production of the famous Chassart Vieille Cuvée genever. In 1906, the family name was ennobled to Dumont de Chassart.

A walk for those nostalgic for the little mountains, with their valleys, plateaus and streams spanned by old stone bridges. A walk for lovers of calm and nature. And as a gift for children, lots of animals: hens, roosters, ducks, buzzards, goats, sheep and, with a little patience, squirrels and roe deer in the woods... A visit to the Tower will bring a hint of culture.

The route takes you on a journey of discovery to five kiosks and three water mills.You will also take the old railway line, which has been converted into a greenway. This hilly route is suitable for experienced cycle tourists.

An easy walk through the pretty region of Arquennes, along paths, country lanes, woodland edges and the Ravel cycle route, returning along the Charleroi/Brussels canal. The route is almost entirely car-free.

La Haye du Roeulx is the wooded area that surrounds our small princely town to the north-northeast. In addition to exploring our countryside and woods, this route will allow you to discover the town centre of Le Roeulx and its sights.

This country and forest walk takes you on a grand tour around the ruins of Villers-la-Ville Abbey (well worth a visit) along a beautiful array of village paths, country lanes and forest trails.

This long circular route alternates harmoniously between countryside and forest, going all the way around the Florennes air base (military) via the (almost) shortest possible route on public paths and trails, avoiding busy roads.
