Departure from the tram museum car park in Thuin.
(S/E) From the museum car park, head north and cross the road to Lobbes. Follow the tramway for about 1 km. After crossing the bridge over the Sambre, turn right down to the towpath (Ravel 3).
(1) Turn left and follow the towpath (Ravel 3) to the elegant S-shaped bridge over the Sambre.
(2) When you reach this bridge, turn right onto the new footbridge over the Sambre. Continue along Rue du Pont Neuf until you reach Rue Saint-Roch. Cross this street to reach the stairway leading to Ruelle Gripelotte.
(3) Walk all the way up this alley. At the top, turn left and keep left to follow the northern rampart until you reach the stairs.

(4) At the end of the rampart, take the small staircase on the right. After this staircase, cross Place Albert 1er at the foot of the belfry. Then cross Rue Léopold II. Turn left and then right. Go down this small street, then turn left onto Rue Saint-Jacques.
Follow the Midi ramparts (beautiful views of the hanging gardens and the Biesmelle valley). Reach the Posty Bury passage. Go through this gate and go down Posty Bury (cobbled path). At the bottom, turn right onto an unpaved path after a group of houses (beautiful views of the hanging gardens and the Midi ramparts). After about 100 metres, take a path downhill on the right.
(5) At the bottom of this path, turn left and enter the Grand Bon Dieu woods. Follow a stream until you reach a crossroads. Take the footbridge on the right over the stream. Then go up the path on the right (this passes several wayside crosses). After a slight upward curve, continue straight ahead for 700 to 800 m to reach a large chapel with a cross.
(6) Go around the chapel on the right and descend on a slightly winding path. Turn left then right to reach the Biesmelle. Pass near an arboretum. Cross the stream over a small dam and join a small road. Turn right and follow this road for 100 m until you reach a staircase on the left of a bridge.
(7) Take the steps to the Ravel line 109/2. At the top, turn right and follow the Ravel to the tram museum car park (S/E).
