Canoeing in the Gulf of Morbihan, from Larmor-Baden to Auray
A one-way route that is quite a challenge as it is relatively long, yet very rewarding. You’ll need to contend with the wind, choppy water and currents that are sometimes against you – such as between Pointe de Locmiquel and Pointe du Blair – or in your favour, such as when sailing up the Rivière d’Auray. But these conditions naturally vary with the tides and the day’s weather. You’ll admire the scenery of the gulf, the passing sailing boats and, gradually, the coastline narrowing into the ‘Loc’h’, as it’s known.
Arradon Penboc'h - Arradon Moulin de Pomper
From Benalo, head to Moulin de Pomper (small flea market shop in an old tide mill). We will follow coastal paths throughout (GR®34, tour of the Gulf of Morbihan). View of the coast and the islands of the gulf: Arz, Drenec, Logodec, aux Moines, d'Irus.
From Conleau to Arradon Penboc'h
A beautiful walk that takes you from the Conleau peninsula to discover the mouth of the River Vannes. The final stretch of the route takes you down the River Vincin.
Gulf of Morbihan from Port-Navalo to Saint-Gildas on the ocean side
Stage 3 of the 5-day tour of the Rhuys peninsula, from Port-Navalo at the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan to Saint-Gildas de Rhuys, takes you past the Crouesty marina, along the coast and its beautiful beaches, and on to the wealth of megalithic sites. A short trip inland will also take you to the ponds and marshlands—formerly salt marshes—which are particularly rich in biodiversity.
From Port-Navalo to Béninze
Starting from Arzon, a former fishing port dating from the early 20th century, situated at the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan, you’ll make your way to Pen-Castel via a succession of headlands, coves and leafy islets. The path hugs every curve of the coastline as closely as possible, and it’s a pleasure to follow it step by step as it zigzags ceaselessly. All along the route, you’ll be dazzled by the beauty of the landscape.
From Béninze to Port-Navalo
From headland to headland, you follow the rugged coastline, breathing in the sea air and watching the boats dance in the gulf, whilst admiring the shades of blue shifting with the light. Along the way, you’ll discover the old Pen Castel tide mill and the Cairn de Petit Mont before arriving in Arzon, a small Breton town situated between the Gulf of Morbihan and the ocean, at the tip of the Rhuys Peninsula.
