Palmberg Wine and Nature Trail
Running alongside shell limestone cliffs, the route takes you through the steep vineyards of the Palmberg, offering magnificent views over the Moselle valley. Pass through the Pellëmbierg nature reserve (Pellëm = boxwood). The return route through the Donverbach stream valley, with its waterfalls and ravine forest, adds variety to this walk.
Circular Sarre from Orscholz
Circular Sarre: it goes up and down. A short boat trip across the Sarre during the hike for a few euros. A magnificent spot, you can grab a drink at a bar by the water and then set off again. Really very nice.
The Saar River bend from Orscholz
This beautiful hike takes you on a journey of discovery along a magnificent bend in the Saar River, starting from the Cloef Atrium car park in Orsholz (part of the municipality of Mettlach). The route gradually descends to the viewpoint and then to the riverbank before climbing back up to the starting point, all within a splendid forest setting.
Walk around the Saar Loop
A walk around the Saar Loop near Mettlach, one of the Saarland’s most famous attractions. The route takes you from the “WELLES” ferry across the Mettlach lock up to the treetop walk and back in a loop to your starting point.

Circular path in the Manternacher Fiels Nature Reserve
The trail winding through the Manternacher Fiels Nature Reserve offers great variety over a relatively short distance.
You’ll discover a ravine forest along the Syre, limestone rock formations, a vineyard in the heart of the forest, a romantic valley crossed by the Schlammbaach – which can become a torrent depending on its flow – magnificent landscapes, orchards and the remains of a timber mill. There are plenty of information boards in French along the route.
Loshheim Rocks Trail
Rock formations, lovely viewpoints, romantic valleys, the ruins of a medieval castle, a Celtic sanctuary, two Kneipp facilities, a barefoot trail, forest paths and numerous orchards: there’s never a dull moment on this German ‘Traumschleife’ (Dream Trail).
Explanations in French along the route make it easier to appreciate the surroundings
Dream loop tour – Wehinger Viezpfad
The heights of the Saargau above Wehingen can be reached via the slopes of the Kewelsberg through a sea of green limestone. After the descent, there are numerous old orchards, unspoilt stream valleys with clear, bubbling streams and sunken paths in extensive wooded areas.
