Park in the car park at the start of the walks in Courzieu, next to the multi-purpose hall.
(S/E) Head towards the village centre with its shops (bakery, grocery store, etc.). Follow the Route du Velair.
(1) Opposite the Auberge du Pastoureau, take the path on the left that passes under an archway and leads you towards the Croix de la Danièle. Continue along the Route de Montpinet opposite.
(2) Take the path that descends to your right, just between two buildings, and you will find another road. Continue to the Croix de la Bernardière.
(3) Leave the tarmac road and follow the path that descends to your left. Then pass close to the hill ponds. Go past La Bernadière and join Route de la Randonnière.
(4) Turn left and continue along the road to the hamlet of La Randonnière. In the hamlet, follow the road to the left. At the Y-junction, keep to the right. Find a path in a bend at elevation 389.
(5) Follow theGR®7trail that climbs to the left of the road. You will pass through a large cherry orchard at the top of this long climb.
(6) At this junction, turn left onto a relatively flat path. You will come to a Y-junction.
(7) Turn right towards La Verrière. Follow Chemin de la Plaine. Enjoy the unobstructed view of the village of Courzieu and its hamlets. Cross a property, then follow the road before picking up a small path at the next hairpin bend.
(8) Follow theGR® de Pays Tour des Monts du Lyonnais trail, which will take you to the Col de la Croix de Pars.
(9) Just before the pass, take the path that descends to your left into the undergrowth. Begin your descent to the village of Courzieu, passing through the hamlet of Sottizon. At the end of this long descent, you will reach the car park of the village hall (S/E).
