Park near the Courzieu community centre.
(S/E) Set off from the community centre and follow Chemin de la Cassette. The slope is steep right from the start, allowing you to gain height above the village of Courzieu. At Route de Sottizon, continue along the path opposite and you will come to another road.
(1) Pass above the hamlet of Sottizon and continue your ascent towards the Col de la Croix de Pars, first along a road, then along a path that leads to the pass.
(2) From the pass, follow the small tarmac road to the left of the D25 departmental road, which passes close to the source of the Yzeron.
(3) The path will be slightly hilly until you reach the Chapelle Saint-Clair (not listed on IGN).
(4) Head north and take the path to the left of the chapel towards the Bois de Barmont.
(5) Continue straight ahead, above La Petite Verney, along a short stretch of forest track before turning left onto a path towards the hamlet of Lafont.
(6) Take a detour to the landscape interpretation table. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the rolling countryside, stretching all the way to the peaks of the Forez. Continue right towards the hamlet of Lafont.
(7) Cross it and continue westwards, descending towards the village of Courzieu until you reach the junction with the end of the road at the hamlet of Sur-la-Ville.
(8) Take the small path between two houses to descend directly to the heart of the village.
(9) Take the pavement near the nursery school and continue your walk to explore the centre of the village of Courzieu. You will reach the car park where the walks start either via Rue du 19 Mars 1962 and Route de la Verrière (marked route) or via a small path accessible from the village bakery (S/E).
