Description of the walk

Departure from the Place Bordes car park in Villaudric.

(S/E) Exit the car park on the Post Office side and turn right onto Rue de l'Ausonnelle for about 250 metres.

(1) Turn left into the street between numbers 45 and 47 Chemin de Courdis and, at thefirst bend, continue straight ahead on the path under the trees, following the fence to reach a housing estate.

(2) Continue straight ahead and take thefirst street on the left to reach a footpath on the right. Take this path and, at the end, go down Route de Gourdis.

(3) Turn left for about 50 metres, then take thefirstright onto Route de Bordeneuve. Pass the hamlet of Bordeneuve and, at the fork in the woods, take the left-hand path and follow it straight ahead until you reach an intersection.

(4) At the intersection, turn left, cross the Ruisseau de Saint-Jean stream and rejoin the road (D 63).

(5) Follow this road to the left, then quickly turn right onto Chemin de Leret. Further on, take Chemin d'Albaret on the left. After about 500 metres, the path turns left towards the woods (hunters' hut). Follow it to the road.

(6) Do not take the road but, just before you reach it, take the path that continues straight ahead. Turn left then right, cross the footbridge and follow the stream to the left until you reach a field. Continue across the field until you reach the Château La Colombière road.

(7) Go down to the left for a few metres until you reach Route de Vacquiers (D63d) and turn right onto this road.
After about 200 metres, turn left onto Chemin des Brouillous and, at the end, turn left then immediately right to join and cross Ruisseau de l'Orbi.

(8) Take the path on the right just after the ford and continue along it for a long way through the woods, following the stream more or less closely, until you reach Route de Tire Grave.

(9) Cross and continue along the path opposite. At thefirst bend, continue straight ahead and, after about 500 m, at the end of the path, turn left then right to reach the Ruisseau de l'Aigue.

(10) Do not cross the stream, but follow the path along its left bank to Route de Villematier (D14b) and follow it to the right to cross the bridge.

(11) In the bend after the bridge, take the path on the left that leads into the woods. Follow the abandoned route on the left and continue along the path until you reach the edge of the woods, Chemin de Petusou.

(12) Take the road to the left and, after about 300 metres, turn onto thefirst path on the right that enters the woods and follow it straight ahead.

(13) At the foot of the climb towards thefirst houses, continue along the path to the right which continues into the woods. Go around the field (abandoned vineyards) and, at the end of the path, descend to the right onto the stony path.

(14) When you arrive opposite the water treatment plant, continue to the left along Chemin de la Bourdette and join Route de la Matte. Follow it to the right, reach the village of Villaudric and your starting point to the left at the top of the hill at the Place Bordes car park in Villaudric (S/E).

In fact, there are few vines! And besides, the path is less visible among the abandoned vines. But there is beautiful undergrowth.

Beautiful hike, many of the vineyards we passed through seemed abandoned, some had disappeared. No difficulty;

Good hike, perfect mileage, easy to follow with the IGN map except at point 13 where the descent to the right is not easy to find. The abandoned vineyard makes it a little difficult to follow the route. The descent is actually just behind a triangle of vegetation, very visible and wide, but it's easy to get disoriented at this spot. Don't try to go all the way around the vineyard! The fords weren't difficult to cross on that day.

Thank you, this walk in the countryside near Toulouse is pleasant, even in bright sunshine. All the forest sections are well marked and the easy-to-follow route is signposted in its first part. I met other people along the way; there are other signposted circular hiking trails that are popular.

Nice walk. Please note, however, that the GPS track is not reliable on part of the route in relation to the existing paths, but this is only a very short section and the path is very close by, so there is no risk of getting lost.

A very pleasant route not far from Toulouse, with very few paved sections (limited to the D to 3 passages and the last kilometre). The long forest passages are very pleasant and beautiful. (It is not easy to describe the routes in these forests. Personally, I hardly read it, using almost exclusively the route representation on the map with IGN support (which is the most accurate and reliable in the world!), which is always very well done on VisoRando. And despite the previous days of heavy rain, only the section between 10 and 11 was "really muddy".
I will definitely do it again on a beautiful spring or summer day to enjoy the birdsong, which is sure to be abundant.
Highly recommended.

Hello,

I did this hike again with my club. The participants appreciated the shaded sections! We shortened the route after the Château de la Colombière due to the intense heat in the afternoon.

An interesting hike: I recommend it!

The first part between points 1 and 7 is disappointing. The rest is enjoyable.

Hello,

A very interesting route not far from Toulouse, in unspoilt countryside (except at the start)!

The eastern part of the hike alternates between woods and vineyards, crossed by small streams.

I prefer this route to the marked trail called "La rose et l'orchidée" (The Rose and the Orchid).
