Departure from the Esplanade de Verdun in Bouloc.
(S/E) Walk to the end of the esplanade. Pass the florist and turn right onto the D30, Rue de la Tuilerie.
After 250 metres, you will reach a crossroads. Turn right, staying on the D30 towards Vacquiers.
(1) When you reach the bend, 100 metres further on, leave the Vacquiers road and continue straight ahead on Chemin de Géordy. After 200 metres, you will see a very low old building on your right: this is the old tile factory, which has been restored.
Continue along Chemin de Géordy. 5 metres after the dead end sign, turn left onto Chemin des Martis.
After a bend to the right, the road soon becomes unpaved and descends alongside a field before entering the woods (a steep descent). At the end, there is a wooden bench. Follow a steep climb to the left to reach a paved road.
(2) Chemin de la Groule continues straight ahead, then turns right after 200 metres. After about 100 metres, the path is no longer tarmac. After a wooden bench, the grassy path descends to the foot of the hill.
(3) Opposite, there are three signs indicating "les Chemins aux Papillons" (Butterfly Paths): turn right towards La Garenne. The Chemin de Pechbuscla runs alongside a stream. Follow it to the end and join the D45a. Turn right and follow the yellow markings for Chemin de Castenau.
(4) After 150m at the bend in the D45a, leave this road and turn opposite. Follow Chemin de la Gallenne, which climbs slightly and arrives at Route de Fronton (D4). Cross carefully to take a path opposite, which is offset to the right.
Follow Chemin de la Bessoune for a few metres and take the dirt track that starts on the right.
When you reach a fork, follow Chemin de Saint-Pierre to the right. At the bend, continue straight ahead into the cul-de-sac.
(5) Follow Chemin de Lestang, which is tarmac for 500 metres before becoming a dirt track. Cross Route de Villefranche with caution and continue straight ahead on Chemin de Castelnau. After an uphill stretch, you will reach a tarmac road. Take this road to the right for 50 metres.
Turn left onto a dirt track that goes around the Gabaldos farm and continues uphill to join a tarmac road.
(6) Turn right onto Chemin des Bordes, which climbs up to Route de Bouloc. Continue straight ahead on Chemin de Saint-Guilhem.
(7) After 1 km, turn right onto Chemin de Saint-Blancard, a beautiful dirt track that enters the woods.
(8) At the edge of the woods, you will find Chemin des Bousquets; follow this road up to the water tower.
(9) When you reach the water tower, turn left. The Route de Bouloc has a pavement (under construction until the end of 2019): take it to reach the village of Bouloc and the Esplanade de Verdun (S/E).
