The starting point for this hike is located on the road that leads from Tibi to the Tibi dam via the CV-810. The car park is at the junction of this road with a very wide dirt track (which will be the return route).
To get to this starting point by car, see the "practical information" section below.
The Visorando app is highly recommended.
For information, the rating established by the French Hiking Federation (FFR) is as follows: IBP = 53, length = 6.8 km and elevation gain = 431 m. (These figures may differ from those given by Visorando; in this case, always use the higher figures to get an idea of the difficulty of the hike).
(S/E) From the car park, continue along the tarmac road towards the dam. In fact, this road will become less and less tarmac and more and more dirt. But take advantage of the descent to admire the surrounding mountains and discover part of the lake around a bend.
(1) Make a round trip to Casa d'Alcómia (in ruins) and enjoy superb views of the lake and dam. Take the path on the right and look for blue markings.
(2) Leave the path you have been following and take a small path on the right, descending through the countryside to join another well-marked path further down. Look for green markings. After a steep climb, but with superb views of the lake, you will reach the summit of Mos del Bou.
(3) Then head off to the left. You will find yourself at the foot of cliffs, then climb up and continue along a ridge path. You will come to a concrete marker where the path to follow is on the left. You will then find a steep descent and, at the end of this descent, a "real" path. Continue, this time climbing uphill and following the blue markings.
(4) Leave the trail to go to the summit of La Moleta at an altitude of 750 m, marked by a cairn. Return to the path.
(5) Pass a large cairn and admire the superb view. Then follow the path marked by cairns (the path actually exists, although it is not marked on maps) and pass a cave.
(6) Arrive at the summit of El Salt de l'Aguila at an altitude of 759 m, marked by a pretty cairn.
(7) Pass by the summit of Penya de la Moleta at an altitude of 753 m. Then join the trail. Again, the path actually exists, although it is not marked on maps. Follow it from cairn to cairn. Pass a large cairn and follow the small cairns.
(8) Turn right and continue straight ahead.
(9) Head towards the cairns on the right.
(10) Take the large path on the left.
(11) You will come to a large path; take it to the left. From here on, the difficult part is over. Follow this path and you will come to the car park at the end (S/E).
