Park in the car park at Villers-au-Tertre Town Hall.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, take the winding path leading to the playground. Go through the barrier blocking vehicle access and continue along Rue du Stade.
(1) Turn left onto Rue de Monchecourt, then 100 m further on, take the farm track on the left.
(2) Cross the A-road and take the path opposite, heading to the right. Please note: after 250 m, the path joins the A-road, which has little traffic; follow it for 200 m, walking on the hard shoulder.
(3) Take the first path on the left about a hundred metres before the sign marking the entrance to Erchin. On the ridge, there is a panoramic view of the Douaisis plain on one side and the Arleusis plain on the other.
(4) When you reach a Fork in the road, turn right onto the path which veers left at the edge of the woods and runs alongside them for a while. Continue until you reach the entrance to Bugnicourt, then carry on along Rue de Fressain, towards the town hall and the church.
(5) Turn left onto Rue de l’Égalité, heading towards the cemetery, and follow the paved path.
(6) Take the first stony path on the left.
(7) Turn right onto the departmental road, then immediately turn left onto a farm track.
(8) Cross Rue de Bugnicourt (D132c) and follow the grassy path opposite, which leads to a housing estate. Continue straight on along Rue des Bois until you reach Rue de Fressain.
(9) Turn left. Go past the traffic lights and continue along Rue de Monchecourt, which curves to the right. Follow it for about 300 m.
(10) Turn left onto Rue du Cimetière (hairpin bend) opposite the entrance to the Marquis de Traisnel’s château. Walk alongside the cemetery then turn left to join Rue d’Erchin
(11) Cross Rue d’Erchin and take the street opposite that goes round Place du Mont Tilleul (centuries-old trees). Cross Rue d’Erchin again and take the access road to the car park opposite (S/E).
