Park in the car park by the Rhône on the square opposite the Proxi and the pharmacy.
(S/E) Take Quai Jules Roche Nord southwards until you reach Rue Seyve et Buisset on the right. Walk up this street, pass the church and climb the stairs at the end.
(1) At the top of the stairs, turn right into Rue des Osches and continue uphill. Turn left into the street that passes in front of the cemetery. The view opens up over the town, the Rhône, Île de la Platière and the Alps in fine weather.
(2) A pure white Madonna also admires this landscape. Follow the path through the vineyards, which is less steep.
(3) The dirt track has turned to tarmac as you approach the houses. At the crossroads, turn right. The road descends then climbs again to cross the bridge over the Ruisseau de Vergelet. Continue to the Olme pony club with its 16th-century tower.
(4) Take the road on the right. Walk past the meadows where there are many horses. Pass the Marquian farm. Continue straight on along the path closed to all vehicles, go past a green barrier blocking the way for vehicles and begin the descent down the southern slope of the hill. Take care not to slip as the slope is steep.
(5) The slope levels out. Keep well to the left, taking the path that descends towards the town; you will come across the same green barrier when you reach a track leading up from the town. Head down to the right and arrive at the houses. At the junction, take Rue du Vieil Hôpital to the right. Explore the old town with its historic buildings, which are marked with information signs. Walk past the Tour des Pénitents and over the Vergelet bridge.
(6) Turn left onto Rue de Tournus, which leads back to the car park (S/E).
