In the village of Peyraud, follow the sign for the cemetery. Take Rue de l’Église and park in the cemetery car park.
(S/E) Walk straight up the road until you reach the narrow path that climbs above the village. (The road continues to the right: do not take it).
(1) Take this path, which winds its way up through the woods (this is the most challenging part), until you reach a crossroads of paths.
(2) Turn left, heading south-west, and reach the top of the vineyards: magnificent views of the Alps and the valley.
(3) Follow the path through the vineyards to the village of Verlieu. Turn left at the chapel and head down Rue du Puits d'Enfer to the lowest point.
(4) Take the path on the left which descends past a house, then alongside the vineyards. Continue across the plateau to a winegrowers’ hut and turn left after the hut to head back down towards Peyraud. Descend into the wooded valley, then climb back up before descending again towards the village.
(5) Cross the bridge over the Ruisseau de Crémieux at the bottom of the valley. The path climbs up the other side of the valley through the woods. Follow this wide forest track to the top.
(6) Then turn left to return to Peyraud, following the Ruisseau de Saint-Antoine for a good distance. Continue along this path, which veers away from the stream. Cross two other small streams at fords, following this path which eventually brings you back alongside the Ruisseau de Crémieux. Continue alongside it and join Rue des Cités.
(7) Follow this street, which veers to the right, to the old stone bridge.
(8) Cross the stone bridge and turn left onto Rue de l’Église, where the car park is located near the cemetery (S/E).
