Description of the walk

Parking on the D942 (Route de Carpentras) 300 m west of La Loge, at the start of Chemin de Fontbonne, which leads to L'Oasis.

(S/E) Cross the D942 (caution, busy road) and take the Chemin de Péconil opposite, a GR® (red and white) marked trail. Pass Péconil and follow the GR® on a shaded balcony path. Come out onto a track north of Fraysse and shortly afterwards go to a crossroads at 703 m.

(1) Leave the marked route and turn right onto the track that climbs up into a gorge. When the track turns right, continue straight ahead on the path that climbs up into the valley. Follow this path in the thalweg until you come to a track at the edge of a lavender field.

(2) Take the track on the left that runs alongside the field. At the end of the field, continue on the track opposite for 250 m until you find a track that branches off to the right.

(3)Follow this track, which winds its way through the woodland, until you come to another track.Turn left onto this track. Further on ,you will come to a stony track marked PR® at an altitude of 851 metres.

(4) Take this track on the right and continue to the next junction, Carrefour des Grandes Terres, at an elevation of 870 m on the IGN map and 858 m on the signpost.

(5) Turn right towards Tendilles, thenimmediately right onto the track marked PR® and Trail 17. You will arrive at the edge of the lavender fields (view of the Nesque plain) and follow them until the marked route veers off to the left at an elevation of 833 metres (there is an information panel about the Hautes Terres here).

(6) Continue slightly to the right on the track that runs alongside the fields. Further down, shortly after a view of Sault, you will come to a fork in the tracks.

(7) Take the track on the right, following the fields. Shortly afterwards, you will come to another fork in the tracks at elevation 816. Continue left, passing between the trees without entering the fields. 70 m further on, look out for the start of a path to the left.

(8) Follow this path through the undergrowth, cross a steep track and continue on a gentle slope (some views of Sault).

(9) Shortly before leaving the forest, pass to the leftof a large oak tree and continue downhill on a path, then on a track.Walk along the Clert property. Further on, join a small tarmac road that passes next to a shed and arrive at La Loge.

(10) Cross the D942 (take care, busy road) and walk along its left-hand side until you reach the car park (S/E).
