Start from Villes-sur-Auzon, car park in the village centre.
(S/E) Take Le Cours, a sort of small circular boulevard that goes round the town centre.
(1) Turn right onto the Route de Sault (Avenue J. Bernard).
(2) Turn right onto the Route des Gorges de la Nesque (Route de la Nesque – D942) and follow it for about 20 kilometres to the panoramic viewpoint.
(3) The road levels out and will soon begin a descent towards Monieux.
(4) At the entrance to Monieux, take the right-hand hairpin bend towards the lake and Méthamis (green sign for cyclists). This is the road known as Les Blaches. The road goes round the lake and then reaches a T-junction.
(5) Turn right onto the D96, which climbs through the forest. The road passes the “Le Viguier” and “La Plane” estates.
(6) At the three-way junction, continue climbing to the right onto the D5 towards Méthamis.
(7) Pass the Saint-Hubert lodge, then begin a descent of around 14km to Méthamis.
(8) At the Pont de Faraud junction, head right downhill, staying on the D5. In Méthamis, continue downhill for a few hundred metres more on the same road, which curves to the left to pass through part of the village.
(9) At a hairpin bend, leave the D5 and turn right onto the Villes-sur-Auzon road (D14).
(10) Pass through Saint-Estève and continue straight on.
(11) At the second junction, turn right onto the D942, which leads to Villes-sur-Auzon (S/E).
