(S/E) Take the path that passes beneath the inn and overlooks the ponds. As you leave the last pond, turn right and look out for the first “Yellow Diamond” signposts or, mainly, “Blue Rings”. The path crosses a wooded area. You will reach the Étang du Villerain.
Blue Ring markings
(1) The Étang du Villerain is a lovely fishing pond nestled deep within the forest. As you leave the pond, turn left to reach the hamlet known as “Les Faignes Noires”.
(2) After crossing the Plain Pré stream, in the middle of nowhere, the “Rémy Couval” farm—which looks abandoned between two wooded areas—stands on the path. Continue to the Moulin Picard; to do this, from “Les Faignes Noires”, follow the signposted path along the edge of the forest.
(3) Turn left towards the Étang de la Molière. Pass a surprising snail farm, “Les Escargots de la Molière”, on your left before reaching one of the largest ponds on the route, the “Étang de la Molière”.
(4) After the pond, turn left towards “l’Étang du Coke” (please note: Green Ring signposts for another route are displayed alongside the Blue Rings; be sure to follow the Blue Ring signposts). The 2.5 km path leading to the Étang du Coke runs mainly through woodland and opens out onto this idyllic “small” pond, situated roughly halfway along the route.
(5) Leave the Étang du Coke, then cross the D57 road to continue towards the “Chalet de la Beuille”. Don’t hesitate to walk a hundred metres past the signpost to reach the Chalet de la Beuille, situated below, which offers a splendid “panorama” of the region.
(6) From the Chalet de la Beuille, retrace your steps for a few metres until you find the Blue Ring signpost on the right, pointing towards the hamlet of “La Beuille”. This path, lined with “small chalets”, first passes between two small ponds before leading to the “summit” of the route.
(7) Continue to the right along the small road through the meadow; at the route’s highest point (736 m), this offers some lovely views of the region.
(8) You will then rejoin the D57 road; turn left to follow the Blue Ring signposting towards the Étangs de la Vigotte, situated below the inn.

(9) After 600 m, leave the path signposted with a Blue Ring and follow the track to the right, which winds between the first two ponds and, after a short climb, leads to the car park at the Auberge de La Vigotte (S/E).
