Start: accessible by car with parking at the starting point at Étang du Villerain, not far from the Hôtel-Restaurant La Vigotte.
(S/E) Walk alongside the Étang du Villerain on your left and follow the path marked with the Blue Ring. A few dozen metres past the lake, turn right and continue to follow the Blue Ring markings to begin the descent.
(1) After the descent, cross the small stream (be careful: the little bridge is in poor condition) and turn right onto the path. Pass close by, on the right, the old Les Faignes Noires farm. Continue to follow the Blue Ring markings.
(2) The path turns sharply to the left at the junction. Turn left and follow the Blue Ring and Green Ring markings.
(3) At the next junction, turn left onto the tarmac road towards Étang de la Molllière: it’s straight ahead. Walk along the right-hand side of the pond.
(4) Turn left at the next junction, heading towards Le Plain Pré and Étang Coke, whilst continuing to follow the Blue Ring markings. Walk past Étang Coke and you’ll reach the D57.
(5) Cross the departmental road and follow the Red Triangle-marked path to the left until you reach the junction, with the D57 to the left and a pond to the right.
(6) Follow the small tarmac road marked with the Blue Ring sign; the road climbs slightly. Pass close to the Plumenco sheepfold.
(7) At the junction, turn left, staying on the tarmac road, and continue to the D57.
(8) Cross this road and follow the road (Hôtel restaurant la Vigotte) straight on until you reach the car park at Étang du Villerain (S/E).
