Access: After La Roche de Rame, head towards Briançon and take the Champcella road, Freissinières, D38.
At Pallon, turn right towards Freissinières and leave your car in the car park.
(S/E) Continue along the track that leads to Le Plan for about 300 metres.
(1) Turn onto a path that climbs to the right (on the map, this is at point b on the D38 b) and follow it for about 300 metres.
(2) At the small cistern, turn right, then right again to join theGR®653Dtrail, marked in red and white, which comes from Pallon. Follow it to the next junction.
(3) Turn left towards Col de l'Aiguille.
(4) Once you have crossed the pass, pass by the foot of L'Aiguille, where the trail descends.
(5) At the junction, turn right. The trail climbs gently to some rocks that are easy to cross.
The trail continues to climb until it reaches the only tricky part of the hike.
(6). This section requires caution for those prone to vertigo (1639m on the map). Continue to Clôt du Puy 1640m.
(7) Make a round trip to the viewpoint (1763m) and enjoy the Freissinières Valley.
(7) Back at the viewpoint, follow the signs for Via Ferrata return. The trail is easy at first but then requires a little caution until you reach the start of the Via Ferrata.
(8) Take the path on the left, which will lead you easily through the forest to the car park (S/E), passing at the end along the track you took at the start.
