Description of the walk

Start from the car park on the boundary between the municipalities of Guilers and Plouzané. Access via Route de la Trinité coming from Guilers or Route de Guilers coming from Plouzané.

(S/E) On leaving the car park, cross the road carefully using the pedestrian crossing, then turn right onto the multi-use path to Keryel.

(1) Walk past the house and take the path marked in yellow heading north-east. Walk past some old quarries and turn left towards the Quillihouarn farm.

(2) Leave the marked path and turn right onto the track running alongside the field. After about 500 m, turn right onto the Route de Kermerien and rejoin the yellow-marked path heading off to the right. Follow it to the Chemin de Kergoff.

(3) Turn right, then take the path on the left to follow the stream, which you will cross several times (over bridges worthy of Indiana Jones).

(4) At the end of the path, turn left, then right onto the road leading up towards Lanninguer. Continue straight on this road, which then becomes a path after Kernéen.

(5) Take care at the second junction after Kernéen; the two paths in front of you are marked in yellow. Take the one on the right heading south then south-west.

(6) At the end of the path, take the road on the right, then, after 50 m, follow the path on the left. At the first crossroads, continue straight ahead, then, at the next crossroads, turn left (no markings for 100 m) and head towards Penarvern.

(7) At Penarvern, continue straight on along the path to join the Route de Guilers, which you should follow carefully as far as Keryel.

(1) Take the multi-use path back to the car park (S/E).

A very beautiful route that can also be started from a place called L'Archantel in Brest, with a similar but longer variation. Very little tarmac and easy to follow in GPX mode.

A quiet route with beautiful scenery. There’s a signposted route for a different hike to this one. It’s hard to follow without the app. Watch out for the paths, which can get very muddy at times – I lost a shoe because of them.
