Parking is available in front of the town hall in Neuville Bosc.
(S/E) Go down Chemin de la Fontaine and immediately turn right onto Rue Antoine Havard towards the church. Continue downhill at the foot of the church, following the road until the first crossroads.
(1) Turn right onto Rue des Grouettes after the bus shelter, go up the road and enter Cresnes. Pass the first crossroads with Chemin des Bruyères, where theGR®11arrives.
(2) Look for the red and whiteGR®11signpost and follow it to the right at the next junction, into Chemin des Buttes. At the fork that follows immediately, turn right and continue along Chemin des Buttes, which heads south. The road ends in a wide, stony path, which climbs very steeply after a while.
(3) At the top of the path, leave theGR®11, which branches off to the right, and continue straight ahead on the path through the forest. Many paths that lead to this track are blocked by chains as they are private and therefore off-limits. Stay on the main track, which is quite wide. After about 15 minutes of walking, you will see large rhododendron bushes in the forest and a stone wall on your left. You will arrive at a hamlet of a few houses.
(4) Turn left, go through the wooden gate and continue for about ten metres. The house on your left, at the corner with the tarmac road, is Sarah Bernhardt's house. It is private and unfortunately not open to visitors.
Turn around and go back through the wooden gate. Take the path in front of you. After about 100 metres, it descends quite steeply. It is distinctive because it is sandy and deeply carved by water runoff when it rains. The forest eventually thins out, and on the left-hand side you will see pastures with large trees. Continue along the path until you come to a stream. Follow it along the left-hand side, then cross it. Head back up towards Chavençon. The path runs alongside pastures, then follows a large stone wall and ends at a paved road.
(5) Cross Chavençon straight ahead, ignoring the streets and paths that come up, until you reach a crossroads at the foot of the church. There, turn right. Further on, at a fork after a pond, take the road on the right. Follow the road until you find a path on the right blocked by a wooden barrier that enters the forest.
(6) Take this path and follow it until you come to another fairly wide path coming from the left. Take this path to the right and climb up under the pine trees. Follow the path which, after about 200 metres, turns left. Continue to the crossroads called "La Croisette", ignoring all the paths, which are often private, that branch off to the sides. At La Croisette, you will find directions on wooden signs. Follow the main path towards Neuville Bosc (north) and go straight down a very steep path that ends after the water tower on a fairly wide, flatter road. After walking for 5 minutes, the forest thins out and you will see a beautiful house on your right. Continue to the junction with the tarmac road.
(7) At this crossroads, take the path that runs along the left side of the large house opposite you. After about 50 metres, it will come out into fields with a beautiful view. Continue along the path, cross the D508 and continue on the fairly wide path. It continues straight ahead. 200 metres further on, the path turns left and in this bend, a narrower path goes straight ahead. Take this road, which is directly opposite the main road you have just left. It runs alongside some retention basins and then hedges, ending at the corner of a road in the middle of the hamlet of Petit Alleré.
(8) Take Rue de la Cote Mignonne on the right, then turn right again at the crossroads and take Rue du Pré Nicolas Roux, which crosses the D508 towards Cresnes. At the first crossroads (1), turn right and head up towards the church and then the town hall (S/E).
