(S) Reach Les Amayères by road.

You will reach a crossroads.

(2) Keep right on theGR® to enter the mountain pasture and easily reach the pretty Col de Jajêne.

(3) Shortly after the pass, turn 90° right onto the Montagne de France ridge.

(5) Return to the previous crossroads.

(6). Continue along the ridge heading east and you will come to Col Lachaup, then Col de la Croix.

(7) Leave theGR®93here and begin the long descent via theGRP® du Tour du Dévoluy, marked JR (yellow and red). Reach the Altisurface crossroads.

We set off from La Jarjatte.
Access to the Col de la Croix was very easy.
Pointe Feuillette is poorly signposted but easy to find as it is very distinctive. We descended towards a sheepfold but couldn't find the access to the Col Priau, which was a real pain! After numerous attempts to reach the Col Priau, we descended towards Les Amayères. But this meant a much longer walk back to La Jarjatte.

Otherwise, a very beautiful hike with fantastic scenery along the ridge.

Hike starting from the Jarjatte valley, returning to the starting point. Start from the car park at the bottom of the Jarjatte valley. Climb up to the Col de la Croix, turn left towards Montagne de Paille, which you can see in the mountain pastures (cows). Before the summit, we chose to pass under the rocky ridge rather than follow the crest of the mountain pastures (the GR markings are on top of the fence posts in the mountain pasture). The start of the passage under the rock face is at the level of two large boulders still in the mountain pasture. Pass between the boulders and join the ridge from where you can see the start of the path. This follows the rock face, which is quite wide and does not pose any major risks, but caution is advised nonetheless. Then head towards Pointe Feuillette. Descend to a small pass, then immediately into the first valley on the left, as far as you can see, to the stream, off the marked trail, and climb up on the left to reach the Priau pass. At one point, cross the stream and climb up a visible path in the forest that leads to the Col Priau. From the summit, you can see the Jarjatte valley. Look for some old yellow markings on a deciduous tree (on the right downstream) that descends in a series of switchbacks (cairns) and joins a track leading to the road that goes to the car park.

A superb walk with magnificent 360° views at Pointe de la Feuillette, definitely worth repeating. A shame it was a bit windy, but highly recommended.

Les Amayères and Pointe de la Feuillette, a superb walk with a 360° view, returning via the Vallauris gorges. Bright sunshine with a slight breeze. Worth repeating, it was so beautiful.

Variation completed: Lus la Croix Haute - La Jarjatte. Allow an extra hour to reach Les Amayères de Lus.
Between points 4 and 6, the markings are spaced out or even faded, making them difficult to spot. It was also at this point
that the group was treated to an aerial display by a colony of vultures. Majestic!!!!
