Old Asnières and the Genevilliers greenway

A hike from station to station in two stages. First, we zigzag through old Asnières, passing through squares and discovering a rich heritage. Then, we walk along the paths of the Gennevilliers green corridor, which winds its way through a highly urbanised setting.

This walk is part of a multi-day hike: La Petite Couronne de Paris

The first half of this hike is particularly interesting! Asnières is worth seeing! The return journey by RER train involves a 30-minute wait between trains!

Asnières seems like a pleasant place to live (green spaces, public transport, shops).

A pleasant route, surprisingly green in these highly urbanised areas, with a few little-known places such as the castle. Thank you.

During the holidays and in this cold weather, we took a break in a brasserie near the town hall. It was a good idea because there aren't many cafés. While in Asnières we were able to admire pavilions and interesting buildings, in Gennevilliers the green corridors are green but the landscape is not very varied. The difference between the two towns is visible from the Garibaldi metro station. It was an interesting walk from an urban planning and socio-economic perspective. As for the RER C, during the Christmas holidays, with a train every 30 minutes, we felt sorry for the users. We hesitated about which route to take: tram, line 13...

A very pleasant short route. A series of parks in Asnières followed by the beautiful green corridor of Gennevilliers. A route worth repeating to visit the dog cemetery, which is closed on Mondays.

A very well-described parish specific to Brittany walk, and very well signposted too. It must be quite pleasant to do in summer to enjoy the greenery more.

The centre of Asnières-sur-Seine is well worth exploring. You can also visit the cemetery for dogs and cats. The green corridor towards Gennevilliers is a fitting end to this route. Very easy route.

A pleasant walk between Asnières and Gennevilliers. No difficulty. Few cars in the small streets of Asnières. The parks of Gennevilliers follow one after another. Nothing spectacular but pleasant. I combined this walk with the Coulée Verte de Colombes, returning to Asnières station. The two routes are separated by five stops on the T1 tram line and a 1 km walk.

Very easy hike
The first part in the old town of Asnières is very interesting.
It's a shame we went on a Monday, the only day the dog cemetery is closed.
The VUITTON workshops are rarely open.
We were very surprised by the number of squares and parks in these suburbs.
The itinerary is particularly well explained.
Highly recommended!

An original itinerary combining an urban first part, focusing on squares, including the small but remarkable Parc du Château, and points of interest, including the discreet Louis Vuitton factory, with a greener and more relaxing second part.
NB: The recommended entrance to Parc Robinson, opposite Rue Dussoud, is closed from mid-February until 15 June. You should therefore follow the noisy Quai du Dr Dervaux, with its heavy, uninterrupted traffic, for a few dozen metres, keeping the park on your right, to find the next entrance. If you don't want to miss out on a stroll along the banks of the Seine, you can go down a staircase on the right at the foot of a weeping willow and come back up another staircase, this time on the left, to reach the entrance to the dog cemetery... and enjoy the rest of the particularly well-explained walk.

The level of the Seine at this time of year allowed us to visit the Dog Cemetery, a curiosity that the group (17 people) enjoyed.
The little-known castle is also worth a look.

What a contrast between the start and end of the walk: from the highly urbanised environment of Asnières to the green and airy surroundings of Gennevilliers. The first part of the walk takes you on a journey of discovery through Asnières' historical heritage, while the second part is a very pleasant stroll along Gennevilliers' wide, tree-lined avenues and through its parks. I absolutely loved this route!

Thank you for describing this hike.

We have a route that uses the Gennevilliers greenway.

However, we will include a few sections in Asnières.

Well done and thank you.
