Starting point and access: Place du Maréchal Juin.
- Metro - Line 3, Péreire station. Take exit 2 Square Albert Besnard.
- RER - Line C, Péreire-Levallois station. Find the route at the entrance to the Promenade Péreire, directly opposite the station.
(S) Turn right when you exit the metro station. After a few metres, at a sort of crossroads, take thesecond paved path on the left and cross the square. Then cross the avenue at the traffic lights. Turn left, cross Avenue de Villiers and then Boulevard Péreire Nord. Pass the plaques commemorating the Péreire brothers and Marshal Juin and you will reach the entrance to the Promenade Péreire on your right.
Enter the promenade, walk under a pergola and pass a kiosk. Cross Rue Rennequin and continue straight ahead on the promenade. Then cross Rue Laugier and continue along Promenade Péreire. Finish under a rose pergola. Then follow Rue Bayen to the right. Cross Boulevard Péreire Nord and continue straight ahead.
(1) Opposite no. 48, turn left into Square Olave et Robert Baden Powel. After a small reception area, turn left into a wide alleyway. Pass a playground on your right, then some toilets. Climb a staircase or ramp running parallel to it and leave the square.
Cross both sides of Boulevard Péreire and continue straight ahead on Rue Lebon. Take the first left onto Rue Faraday, then the first right onto Rue Bayen. Pass under the porch of the Château des Ternes, cross Rue Pierre Demours and continue on Rue Bayen.
Cross Rue Villebois-Mareuil on the right-hand side and come out onto Avenue Neil (opposite, note the impressive building of the former Magasins Réunis, dating from 1912). Follow the avenue to the right and, at the traffic lights, cross Avenue des Ternes (on the left, view of the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile).
(2) Follow Avenue des Ternes to the right. After No. 53, turn left under a porch that leads to both a hotel and Passage Doisy. Follow the passage, which veers left and then right. At the exit, turn right onto Rue d'Armaillé.
Pass in front of the entrance to the Church of Saint-Ferdinand and turn left into the street of the same name. Turn left and walk to the end of the street, then turn left again into thesecond street on the left, Cité Férembach (colourful old houses on the even-numbered side).
Go around Place Saint-Ferdinand (sculpture group) and continue straight ahead on Rue du Débarcadère. At the end, turn left and walk along the Neuilly-Porte Maillot train station. Cross Avenue de la Grande Armée at the traffic lights (view of the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile on the left and the towers of La Défense on the right).
(3) Walk up Avenue de la Grande Armée to the left. At the traffic lights, take thesecond right, Rue Duret. Then take the first left, Rue du Bois de Boulogne. At the T-junction, turn right onto Rue Le Sueur (view of the top of the Eiffel Tower).
(4) At the end of the street, cross the north side street of Avenue Foch, then a grassy area onto a gravel path. Then make a zigzag turn to cross Avenue Foch at the traffic lights (clear view of the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile). Then cross a second embankment (majestic plane tree on the right) and the south side street of Avenue Foch.
Continue along Rue Paul Valéry and turn immediately right onto Rue Léonard de Vinci. Go around Place du Vénézuéla, continue straight ahead on Rue Léonard de Vinci and you will come out onto Place Victor Hugo.
(5) Go around the square on the right (note the lion-shaped balcony pillars on the building on the right). Pass in front of the entrance to the Church of Saint-Honoré d'Eylaud and turn right onto Rue Mesnil. Note the Marché Saint-Didier on the left and, at the T-junction, turn right into the street of the same name.
At the crossroads (Place Jean Monnet), take the second left, Rue de la Pompe. Cross Rue de Longchamp and walk alongside the Lycée Janson de Sailly (note the busts of scholars and authors from the 16th to 18th centuries above). You will come out onto Avenue Henri Martin and find the Rue de la Pompe metro station on your left (E).
