Hamlets and rivers around Bard

Park in Fougerolles (municipality of Bard).

(S/E) In Fougerolles, take the small tarmac road for 50 metres towards La Loge, then follow the dirt track to the left towards Lérigneux. Stay on this track, veering slightly to the left.

(1) Leave this track to head down to the left and join a small tarmac road leading to the D113-2. Cross this road and continue along the track opposite. Cross the Moingt (or Cotayet) then head back up to Champblanc Sud and walk alongside the farm.

(2) Take the path on the left heading eastwards to the 867-metre mark.

(3) Turn right into the village of Le Maisonny; on the right is the wash house, then pass under the barn bridge to rejoin the road. Cross the D113, take the path opposite to reach and cross the Charavan stream. Continue on to Le Sauzet.

(4) At the entrance to the hamlet, turn sharply left. Follow the path downhill and cross the Charavan again. Continue along the path to the D113 and take it to the right for 100 m.

(5) Turn left onto the small tarmac road signposted ‘Le Montel’ and head towards this hamlet.

(6) Turn right towards Les Grangères. Take the small tarmac road on the left towards Flavelière.

(7) At the stone cross, turn left onto the dirt track and continue to the PR®2. Follow the path to the left and head down to the Cotayet bridge. Head back up and cross the D113-2. Take the path opposite.

(8) At Contéol, at an altitude of 777 metres, take the road on the left as far as the cross. Continue to the right, towards Prassouroux, and take the^first track on the left, which leads back to Fougerolles (S/E).
