From Fouday, take the D57 towards Belmont. Park near the town hall (only a few spaces available).
Yellow Triangle markings
(S/E) With your back to the town hall, turn left and cross the main road carefully to take Rue Principale opposite. Ignore one junction to reach a second one.
(1) Turn left onto Rue des 4 Maisons, which becomes Chemin du Champ du Feu. Continue straight ahead until you reach the main road.
Red Disc markings
(2) Follow it to the right as far as La Serva and its ski resort.
(3) Pass the resort and arrive at a junction with a chapel. Take the path leading uphill to the right of the chapel to reach the last ski lift.
(4) At the junction, head down a few metres to the left to find the continuation of the path, which branches off to the right to join the D214.
(5) Cross it carefully and take the path leading down opposite to the Blue Rectangle-marked trail.
Blue Rectangle markings
(6) Follow it to the right towards Champ du Feu. Go round the top of a small valley. Continue along the Blue Rectangle marked trail, keeping to the right.
(7) When the path runs alongside the road (D214), continue to the left and follow the markings.
Cross a marshy area, pass two crossroads and join the D214 at La Tour (elevation 1098m).
(8) Go round it, cross the road and head straight down, following the Blue Rectangle markings towards the Col de la Charbonnière.
(9) On the descent, ignore a junction marked with a Yellow Cross which comes up on the right at La Serva. Continue straight on until you reach the road. Descend to the Col de la Charbonnière.
Red Disc markings
(10) Turn right, then take the path completely to the left, cross a junction of forest tracks (elevation 930m), keeping to the right (north), and descend immediately into the valley along the stream to the road (D57).
(11) Follow the road to the right until you reach the right-hand bend. Leave the road and turn left onto the Route Forestière de la Hutte. Follow this road until you reach the first houses in Belmont. Continue along Rue de la Hutte bas, and return to the original junction.
(1) Head straight on until you reach the car park (S/E).
