Start at the Charny Tourist Office.
(S/E) Take Rue des Ponts, opposite the Tourist Office.
(1) At No. 32, look out for an iron gate with bars: you are level with a former bridge in Charny (hence the name Rue des Ponts). Carry on and cross the bridge, following the main road which curves slightly to the right. Take the first road on the right, heading towards the lake. You’ll reach the first lake. Walk along its edge and take the Chemin du Bignon.
(2) On your left, you’ll see some buildings after passing the lake: these are the old Charny abattoirs. Follow the road to the left and, at the Fork in the road, keep to the right. You’ll reach the fishing pond; go round it on the right. You’ll come to the ford on your left: this is a small stone bridge which you must cross.
(3) Carry on straight ahead for a few metres, then join a path on your right. Take this path and walk behind the “Les Platanes” campsite. You’ll reach the end of the “peninsula”.
(4) Take the footbridge on your left. Then turn left onto Rue du Billoy. At number 14, take a path on the right, ignore Rue Saint-Anne on the left and you’ll come out onto Rue des Ponts.
(1) Turn left and you’ll return to the starting point (S/E).
