Park in the church car park.
(S/E) Head towards the bridge, then turn right onto Rue Robert Bertin. In the park, turn left towards the Escaut Canal and turn right.
(1) Turn left onto the embankment and follow the canal for about 3 km.
(2) Pass the lock, continue straight on and go another 1.5 km.
(3) Cross the Paillencourt bridge on the left, cross the Sensée and follow a stream.
(4) At the T-junction, turn left onto Rue du Canal and follow the Scheldt. Pass the leisure park and the old port of Bassin Rond.
(5) At the end, at the large bend, turn right. Turn right again, then immediately left: you are now at Bassin Rond. Cross the bridge and you will reach a T-junction.
(6) Turn left onto Rue de la Rosière.
(7) At the wide bend, cross the bridge and continue along Rue Joliot-Curie. After about 200 m, turn left into the woods and enter the village of Hordain. Continue along Rue du Marais.
(8) Turn left onto Rue des Écoles and, at the church, go straight on along Rue Jean Jaurès. At the large crossroads, turn right onto Rue Louis Pasteur, passing the cemetery on your right.
(9) At the corner of the street, turn left onto Vieux Chemin, which runs alongside the gardens on your right. Pass under the high-voltage power lines and you will reach the D630.
(10) Cross with extreme caution (no pedestrian crossing), then head right onto a path running alongside the road. Before the bridge, turn left onto Rue Ambroise Croizat. At the roundabout, take the left-hand exit and walk alongside the A2 motorway. Continue to the junction with the D74 (Avenue de Bouchain).
(11) Turn left and rejoin the D630. Cross with great care, turn left and cross the level crossing.
(12) Turn right, leaving Bouchain station in front of you, and follow Boulevard Louis Havez.
(13) Turn left into Cité Vauban, Allée A. Cross Boulevard de la République at the pedestrian crossing and continue straight ahead for about 50 metres. Then turn left onto Rue du Rempart and, before the dead end, keep left.
(14) Continue straight on, following the Étang du Petit Large and then the Étang du Grand Large.
(15) At the end of the latter, continue to the right and follow the road to reach Rue Henri Bocquet. Turn left, cross the Escaut bridge and return to the starting car park (S/E).
