Description of the walk

Parking is available near the Milk Bouse farm, close to a signpost.
The first part of the hike to the Suet hut is marked with green signs and occasional red paint marks.

(S/E) Go behind the farm, cross the barrier and after a few metres, go up the meadow on the right towards the forest.

(1) At the signpost, turn right and follow the path uphill.

(2) After 1 km, you will come to a viewpoint, which is a round trip. Ignore the path that descends to the right and continue straight ahead. Shortly afterwards, the climb becomes steeper.

(3) At an altitude of 1,420 metres, leave the path on the right and continue climbing to the Suet hut.

(4) Take the path to the right of the hut, which leads to the summit of Le Suet (marked with red paint dots on the rocks).

(5) Return to the hut via the same path.

(4) Take the path on the right that leads to Cerisset (marked with occasional signs and blue paint dots). This path remains fairly level for quite a long time before descending steeply to Cerisset.

(6) Turn left towards the south-east and descend quickly.

(7) At an altitude of around 1,220 metres, it is best to take a path on the left that leads to Plan de Forgeassoud, avoiding the descent on the carriage road.

(1) Turn right to descend the meadow, then left at the bottom of it to return to the start (S/E).

Notes

Water source (fountain) 500m after the start.
It is possible to camp at the Suet hut.

It is essential to be equipped with good footwear, as the climb from the hut to the summit is
difficult on the sharp limestone pavement, and even more so in wet weather.
Not recommended in snowy conditions as the markings are no longer visible and the path is difficult to follow.

Magnificent view! It was spectacular above a breathtaking sea of clouds. No air passage. Steep incline. Very little traffic on this route, making it very pleasant!

Breathtaking hike.
Very exposed section. The path is sometimes difficult to find, even with a GPS watch.
I strongly advise against doing the route in the direction indicated; the paths are always above and it is easy to lose them in the scree. Also, avoid doing it alone!

Regarding the comments: "No trailers allowed". The mountain does not belong to hikers, hunters, trailers or those who have appropriated the land. We are all equal and visitors, and we are all in the same boat, so this kind of remark does not benefit either the person it is aimed at or the person who makes it

Very beautiful hike, description accurate.
Very few people, and mostly trail runners.
We saw two griffon vultures at the summit!

The Suet gave us a good workout! The climb and descent are very steep, but the view from the top is well worth the effort. It's magnificent. The landscape is varied, mainly in the woods, with some slippery sections, particularly the last part of the descent, which is clearly not very well used as it is not the main marked route.

Very good, accurate description, useful for finding your way, especially on the descent. A very beautiful walk in a wild and varied landscape. Extraordinary 360° view from the summit.

A very beautiful hike in mid-May, a physically demanding route (steep climb through the forest, be careful as the leafy path can sometimes be slippery). Stunning views, especially at the summit with breathtaking views of the Thones valley, Aravis, and Borne valley. No one else on the way back... except at the summit for the photo! Great...
Note: we found lily of the valley in bloom up to an altitude of 1,700 metres! A lovely surprise!

A very physically demanding hike. But there are views across the entire valley on one side. I can't tell you about the other side: we couldn't see anything because of the clouds.
