Car park: Laubenheim - Discovery trail car park (stony path leading uphill). If you have a small vehicle, feel free to continue along this path and park 200 metres further on in the second car park. It looks the same as the first car park.
Markings: a little fairy with butterfly wings and a blue disc
(S/E) From car park no. 2, turn right into the forest and take an uphill path (follow the little fairy with butterfly wings).
(From car park no. 1, it will be on the left after walking 200 m to car park no. 2).
Go through a gate. Follow a path along a forest road and join it at a fork.
(1) Go up to the left along a forest path. This will be the most difficult uphill section of the hike. Pass the archaeology information board and you will come to a junction with a wide forest path.
(2) Leave the Little Fairy trail markers and turn left towards Guirbaden Castle (Blue Disc, Yellow Cross).
(3) At the castle, turn right and go back to avoid missing the other side of the castle, then continue straight ahead, passing in front of the small gardens, under the gate and to the right to the Saint-Valentin Chapel.
A beautiful grassy area with picnic tables awaits you for a break or a picnic lunch. Retrace your steps to the junction with a wide forest path.
(2) Turn left to follow the little fairy trail markers along a pretty path. Go through a green gate. After the "place des elfes" sign, take the stairs.
(4) Picnic table and beautiful view of the Alsace plain. Continue along the path.
(5) Cross an area of cup-marked rocks and arrive at Place des Druides, where there is another picnic table.
(6) Continue straight ahead along the panoramic path. A bench (with a flag) and a beautiful view of the plain and Strasbourg await you 200 metres further on, and an orientation table 400 metres further on.
(7) Retrace your steps back to Place des Druides.
(6) Turn left downhill, below the picnic table. Go through the green gate. After the cave, the path continues with a few hairpin bends until it reaches a forest track.
(8) Turn left onto this forest track for a few metres and continue downhill to the right along a small path. Ignore a path junction and continue straight ahead. Pass a stone shelter just before reaching the first intersection.
(1) Continue straight ahead, taking the opposite route to the one you took on the way up (or take the forest track parallel to this path) and you will come back to the (S/E).
