Park in the leisure centre car park, after the municipal campsite.
(S/E) Take the tarmac road opposite the car park entrance, which leads to the railway viaduct (GR® white and red markings). The road turns into a dirt track after passing under the viaduct. Continue straight on until the track ends at a tarmac road.
(1) Turn left onto the road, then take the first dirt track on the right, which quickly joins another tarmac road. Turn right onto this road, which continues as a dirt track at the Brousses farm. Continue along this track, which bends to the left along the Vonne river.
(2) At Mongadon, leave theGR® by turning right onto the tarmac road (yellow and green markings). Cross the Mongadon bridge over the Vonne, then take the first dirt track on the right, after the road bends to the left.
Stay on this forest path, which curves to the right, crosses a stream (the Mâcre) and curves again to the left uphill.
(3) At the top of the hill, turn right (yellow markings). At the fork in front of a tree marked with the number 9, take the left-hand path. Stay on this path until you leave the forest.
(4) Turn right onto the dirt road, then take the first path on the right, along a large hedge. Turn left in front of the Grand Parc national forest sign.
(5) At the end of the path, turn right and go under the railway line.
Be careful not to try to climb onto the track, as it is still in use.
At the T-junction with the road, turn right (GR® White and Red markings).
(6) At the next T-junction, turn right and then immediately left onto the grassy path.
(7) At the end of the path, you can follow the discovery trail on the right to learn about the plant species in the Grand Parc forest. Otherwise, turn left and cross the Vonne via the small bridge.
Take the first street on the right (Chemin de la Place Charles Clerc). Then turn left, either via one of the three stone staircases or via the path that winds upwards towards the ruins of Lusignan Castle. Head to the right, past the information panels about the planets of the solar system. The path leads to Place du Bail.
(8) Follow the square on the right, passing in front of the Tourist Office, then take the first right (Rue Saint-Louis). At the market halls, continue straight on Rue Babinet, then turn right to go around the Church of Notre-Dame and Saint-Junien, following Rue Notre-Dame.
You will arrive at a small square with a view of the Vonne valley and the viaduct.
(9) Go down the footpath to the right of the car park, which makes a hairpin bend to the right. At the bottom, turn left to return to the starting point (S/E).
