Autour de Jazeneuil

Park in the car park of Jazeneuil church or another car park about a hundred metres further up.

(S/E) With your back to the church entrance, go up Rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste and, at the first crossroads, continue towards Curzay for about 100 metres.

(1) Turn onto this small road on the left and continue. After the left-hand bend and the last house, turn right and then right again onto a path.

(2) At the edge of the woods, turn right onto the path along the edge of the woods and continue to the small road.

(3) Turn left, pass Jarnezay and follow this road along the edge of the Vonne river and pass under the motorway.

(4) After the bridge, continue along the road and pass the Pont Barrot bridge. Go uphill and, after a right-hand bend, you will reach the Château de Curzay.

(5) Continue straight ahead on the road and, after about 500 m, take the^first road on the right. Go straight ahead and you will rejoin the tarmac road. Cross Rue du Châtaignier and you will reach the cemetery of Curzay-sur-Vonne.

(6) At the stop sign, turn right and cross the small stone bridge over the Vonne. Continue straight ahead on Route de la Cueille and after a little over 50 m, turn right onto the uphill street. Just before the buildings in the hamlet, take the grassy path on the left under the trees until you reach a road. After the woods, note the Château de Curzay on your right.

(7) Leave the path and take the road on the left. Ignore the^GR®® which branches off to the right in front of the sheds.

(8) At the next intersection, turn right onto a small road. Cross the hamlet of Villiers and ignore a road on the right. Pass under the motorway and continue along the small road.

(9) Before the gorse, take the small road on the right towards La Barre. You will arrive at the castle gate.

(10) Then turn onto the path going downhill to the left. Follow this path for a long time under the trees, running alongside the Vonne.

(11) At the end, follow a small road on the right. At the crossroads that immediately appears, turn right to cross the Vonne again. Turn right with the road and return to the church car park (S/E).

There is a picnic area on the other side of the Vonne river, opposite the church.
