(S/E) After parking in front of the church in Saint-Aubin-sur-Risle on the side of the road (there is space for about half a dozen vehicles), take the street that passes in front of the Château de Saint-Aubin and follow the yellow markings almost to the end.
(1) Take the RD 35 to the left for 600 m towards La Barre-en-Ouche. After the sign for Le Petit Harcourt and just before La Bonnelière, turn left at the first road.
(2) Cross the small road and, in the countryside, keep left. In the woods, keep left again.
(3) Take the small road to the right and enter the hamlet of Rubremont, whose buildings are strongly influenced by traditional agricultural activity. Then turn left at the first road.
(4) At the end of the path, there are two options:
- cut left to go directly to the village of Champignolles via the short route.
- or turn right to follow the full route and continue straight on after the houses along the path, which offers sweeping views of the rolling countryside before descending into the valley.
(5) At the bottom, continue straight ahead along the small road that runs alongside the Risle. Then, turn left to cross via the Rouge Moulin, a superb mill whose wheel and hydraulic works have been harmoniously preserved by the owners (stay on the path and respect private property). Thank you.
(6) On the other side of the valley, take the small road to the left and follow theGR® markings. After 700 m, go up the path on the right.
(7) At the top, take the small road to the right and immediately take the path to the left. At the edge of the woods, take the small road on the left that descends towards the valley.
(8) At the bottom, take the small road to the right for 80 metres. At the crossroads, take the path on the right that cuts across the bend and cross the hamlet of La Hungerie.
(9) Descend to the left to the old village of Champignolles. At the church, go up the path on the left.
(10) Take the small road on the left, then the path on the left that passes in front of the manor house and the Manet chapel, then descends back into the valley.
(11) Cross the Risle at the Moulin de Saint-Aubin and continue along the small road that leads directly up to the church of Saint-Aubin-sur-Risle, ignoring the Chemin du Moulin on the right, markedGR®, and thus join the (S/E).
