Le Roc au Corbeau from Levoncourt

Parking is available at the Père Maurice car park at the beginning of the village on the Courtavon side.

(S/E) Head east, with the Largue on your right, until you reach the central crossroads. Turn right, cross the bridge over the Largue and go up Rue de Charmoille. Turn left behind the oratory and follow the path that runs along the edge of the forest.

(1) Leave the return path on your left and continue straight ahead into the forest.

(2) Ignore the path that climbs to the left and cross the French-Swiss border. You will arrive at a place called Les Esserts.

(3) Follow the path that climbs to the left, then turn right about 50 metres further on. Do not head towards Les Ébourbettes. When you reach a stone path, take it to the right and continue to a T-junction.

(4) Turn left (bench). Follow the path, ignoring all those on the left and right, for about 1.8 km until you reach the edge of the forest.

(5) Just before this, take the path on the left that climbs up to the ridge of the mountain, then follow the ridge path to the left. At the end of the meadow, you will see the Ferme des Ébourbettes. You will arrive at Roc au Corbeau.

(6) After a slight climb, you will reach the highest point of the hike at an altitude of 751 metres. Then descend to an altitude of approximately 700 metres via the border path.

(7) Leave this path and take the one on the right, which joins the main path. Follow it downhill.

(8) Take the left-hand bend and continue downhill.

(1) Turn right onto the path, pass behind the oratory, cross the bridge over the Largue and turn left to return to the car park (S/E).

Good walking shoes, drinks and snacks.

You can see the Ferme des Ébourbettes from (5), the upper valley of the Largue, the Château and the Hôtel du Morimont.
