Start from the car park at Levoncourt church.
(S/E) Take the path leading into the forest to the right of the village hall; follow this path, marked with a Red Diamond, until you reach the junction with the wide path coming from Courtavon (Tonayate).
(1) Continue straight ahead; the path heads north-east and joins a Y-junction.
(2) Take the right-hand branch which climbs towards the summit. After a hairpin bend to the right, you’ll reach a junction in a clearing.
(3) Leave the wide path and take the one on the left which leads into the forest. The path heads north-east again and then emerges from the forest.
(4) View of the farm and Liebenstein Castle. After about 300 m, leave the farm on your left and follow the Red Diamond markings. Take the path on the right into the forest to join the one coming from Liebsdorf.
(5) Take this path on the right, heading due south. It is marked with a Yellow Triangle and climbs up to the upper meadows of Oberlarg, where the path joins theGR®532(Yellow Rectangle).
(6) At the T-junction, take the path on the right until you reach the crossroads where you can see Oberlarg in the distance.
(7) At the Carrefour Demate, leave theGR® and take the unmarked path on the left (view of the valley and the peaks of the Sungauvian Jura), and follow it to the Chalet Forestier in the municipality of Oberlarg (covered terrace).
(8) Continue along this path, which overlooks Oberlarg to the right and Winkel to the left, heading south to reach the junction with the D41 opposite the Notre-Dame-du-Haut Chapel, sheltered by trees.
(9) Cross the road (take care) and continue south. At the edge of the forest, take the path on the right which becomes a track; follow it to a gully (rocks on the left) which you must cross to reach a path that you take to the right until you meet another coming from Oberlarg, which you take to the left. Shortly afterwards, you will reach a T-junction.
(10) Take this access path on the right between the Lucelle road and the Ébourbettes farm. When you reach the farm, go past it on the left (chapel and memorial to General Giraud’s escape).
(11) Then take the path on the right. It is marked with the Yellow Rectangle ofthe GR®532. Follow it through the meadows to reach the EDF pylons and the Rocher de la Sorcière.
Enjoy the view over the valley and Morimont. Continue down this path to the forest track. Take it to the left until you reach the crossroads (there is a shortcut to the right).
(12) View of Morimont Castle. Leave theGR® and turn left onto the path heading north, which leads to the D41 road; take the road to the left, passing a cross and a chapel, then the sign for the entrance to Levoncourt. A few dozen metres further on, look out for a path climbing up to the right of the road.
(13) Take this path, which skirts Levoncourt on the right. It rejoins the original path and, to the left, leads to the car park (S/E).
