Park at Place del Cadi, where you will find the Church of Saint-Genis, a listed historical monument.
(S/E) From Place del Cadi, depending on your position, head towards Cami de Vedrignans. Here, depending on the route, head south-east, join theGR®36and turn left. Continue to an intersection.
(1) Leave theGR®36, which branches off to the left, and take the track on the right towards Roc de Carbanet.
(2) At the next intersection, leave the track that branches off to the right and continue on the track to the left.
Stay on this long track, which climbs gradually and then winds its way up a series of hairpin bends. You will reach an area where a path branches off opposite: ignore it and stay on the track until you reach a junction of tracks at the second hairpin bend.
(3) Continue on the track to the right towards Carbanet, follow four hairpin bends before reaching a flat area where there is a crossroads.
(4) Take great care on this section and be vigilant as the yellow markings are almost non-existent. Head right (west) onto a barely marked path where there are cairns. Walk for about 100 metres, then turn 180° to the left, following the cairns. Look carefully: there is a yellow marker on a stone. Continue along the path, using the fence below as a guide to the refuge.
(5) Take advantage of this beautiful spot to rest for a while, then head south to find a forest track. Stay on this track, follow eight hairpin bends, then continue straight ahead until you reach a Y-shaped intersection.
(6) Ignore the track that branches off to the right and keep left to reach the village of Err via Cami de Nuria. Continue to a five-way crossroads.
(7) Continue straight ahead to reach the church and the Place del Cadi (S/E).
