Park at the top of the baths car park,
(S/E) Return to the access road and turn right towards the church. Look up and greet the young ladies as you pass (they may respond with their rustling skirts), then turn right immediately after the church. Admire the elegant Romanesque chevet as you pass, then turn left into the first street you come to. Reach the first houses in the village, then turn right into the main street and follow it to the end of the village.
Reach the second alley on the right (Calle d'Alione) and turn right, then follow the road to the left that runs alongside the houses. At the end on the right, a staircase leads to Calle del Castell, which overlooks the watchtower that protects the surrounding area.
(1) After passing the Torre del Vacaró, the path becomes very steep. Twice, the route deviates from the path to pass along the top of the right-hand embankment, running parallel to it for a few dozen metres before returning to the main path. You will soon reach the Col de Sant Feliu after passing through a trench between two rock faces.
(2) To reach the Chapel of Sant Feliu, turn right at the pass and climb the rocky ridge until you reach the top of the hill.
(3) The ruins of the old building are topped by a statue of the saint, which has been placed where the bell would have been. These remains are located directly below the cliff overlooking the Segre Gorges, which offer an impressive view from this belvedere. Turning your back, you can see the whole of Cerdanya, dominated by the Carlit massif and the Andorran peaks.
Then return to the pass by taking the path in the opposite direction.
(2) At the pass, leave the forest track that extends the path you arrived on to your right. Climb up the other side through the boulders that form the beginning of the rocky ridge under which the path continues. The trail is not very visible as it is rarely used, but it is marked with blue, rustic but very regular markings. Walk uphill, a few dozen metres below the ridge, through bushy vegetation dominated by junipers.
When the vegetation becomes denser and taller, the path leaves the ridge and enters the vegetation cover. Keep an eye out for the blue markings so you don't lose the trail.
Halfway up, you will come across a surprising horizontal channel, which was dry when we passed through, and which appears to be the Rec d'Esplugues, marked in blue on the map. It is probably an old irrigation canal.
Continue up the slope until the vegetation opens up and the slope becomes gentler.
Exit the pine forest where the landscape opens up onto a wide ridge overlooking the Gorges du Sègre, which is undoubtedly a grazing area given the amount of droppings found there.
(4) Climb up this area heading due east, crossing the treeless parts and following the wheel tracks in the short grass. On the way, you will pass the remains of two shepherds' huts on your left. Further on, the track curves to the left and leads to a forest track.
(5) Leave the blue markings and turn left to descend north, following this track towards Port de Llo. Opening up to the left onto Cerdanya, this track offers magnificent views over Solana and the villages of Cerdanya.
After a left-hand bend, the path reaches Coll de Jovell.
(6) The vast esplanade that occupies the pass is used to store wood cut in the neighbouring forests before it is transported down to the valley.
At the pass, turn right and follow the track down through the forest. Follow the few hairpin bends that mark the end of the forest and continue to the left along the edge. Further down, leave the forest for open farmland, just above the Llo solar power station, which now occupies the entire landscape below.
(7) Come out onto the road and follow it to the left for about 300 metres. Turn left onto the first path you come to, shortly after passing a horse farm. This path, lined with tree-covered embankments, winds its way through the landscape until it comes out onto the RD 33 again. The presence of gates that can be opened indicates that you may encounter animals on this section of the path. Be sure to close the gates behind you if this is the case.
(8) When you reach the road, continue straight ahead up the steep path that cuts across the bend in the road. Back on the road, continue slightly to the right along the concrete path lined with huge poplar trees with impressive trunks that you can't miss. Further down, you will come out onto the narrow streets of the village of Llo, which you must descend, passing from one to the other. Pass the last houses and you will find the church and its beautiful maidens. A few more metres and you will find the car park where you started (S/E).
