Park in the car park in the village of Périllos (municipality of Opoul-Perillos). Park at the top of the village (dead end).
(S/E) Go back down the road. Wind your way through the village streets, then take the road that descends from the village for 400 metres until you reach the intersection.
(1) Turn left onto the path that turns almost 180°. Follow the cistern and continue to a new crossroads.
(2) Take the road on the right that goes uphill. After passing a barrier prohibiting vehicle traffic, follow the path to the top. Cross several streams and reach a hairpin bend under the Serra de la Gran Cremada.
(3) Continue east-northeast. On the ridge, you will see boundary markers (department boundaries?) before reaching the speed camera.
(4) Radar: ideal for a picnic spot.
To return, take the path that runs along the right-hand side of the speed camera, slightly below it, until you reach the high-voltage line.
(5) Be careful, from here on, it is very difficult to find your way (there are lots of cairns, don't miss the three cairns side by side). When you are under the high-voltage line, turn left for 20 metres to find the first cairn. Follow the others along a small, very stony path that descends. You will reach THREE cairns next to each other.
(6) Take the path that descends to the right. Be careful, there are cairns everywhere.
The path is steeper and narrower. Continue along this path, heading south at first, and cross the Coma del Remoli valley at the high-voltage power line. Head south-east, leaving the forest to join the Coma del Cabrit track.
(7) Take it on the right, cross the Ruisseau des Abelles (dry?) and reach a crossroads with four trails.
(8) Take the right-hand trail and you will soon reach another crossroads with a ruined sheepfold.
(9) Turn right again and follow the cairns to reach the Grotte de la Cauna, which is located next to cypress trees that stand out in this heath landscape.
(10) Take the path again (very difficult to see, however, among the rocks). Make a U-turn north of the cave and head west.
Follow the dry stream bed to come out at the bottom of a field and find a path that leads to the Santa Barbara Chapel.
(11) Continue until you reach the road leading to Périllos. Follow it to the right (it winds) to reach the crossroads of the loop after 2 km on the tarmac.
(1) Turn left to return to the Périllos car park (S/E).
