Description of the walk

Parking and departure from the car park, Rue des Martyrs de la Résistance.

(S/E) Opposite the sports hall, follow the road to the right until you reach the traffic lights.

(1) Turn left, following the cycle path. At the intersection, cross at the pedestrian crossing and continue straight ahead until you reach the T-junction. Cross the road, turn right, go under the bridge and continue to the end of the cycle path at the S-bend. Turn left, go through the wooden barrier, climb the hill and follow the hill until you reach the road, Rue du Madrillet.

(2) Cross the road, continue straight ahead, entering the woods, and turn right at the first fork. Continue for about 130 metres, turn left and, at the X-shaped crossroads that follows, turn right. At the T-junction at the edge of the woods, turn left, go straight ahead until you descend into the small valley, and reach the Ménhir de la Pierre d'État. Turn right and join the road, Rue de la Pierre d'État.

(3) Cross the road and continue straight ahead on an uphill path. Continue for about 600 metres until you reach the first X-shaped crossroads. Continue straight ahead on a slightly sandy path for about 1,000 metres until you reach the T-junction. Turn right, and at the next T-junction, turn right again. Follow the path as it turns left and climb for about 1,480 metres up Route des Essarts au Milthuit (on IGN).

(4) Follow the bend to the right, pass under the bridge and continue to the first electricity pylon. Turn right immediately after the pylon and, at the first X-shaped crossroads, continue straight ahead. Ignore two turnings on the left, follow the road as it bends to the right, and continue to the T-junction. Turn right at the X-junction, turn right again, and continue to the tarmac road.

(5) Turn left and go back under the bridge.

(4) Ignore the path that descends to the left, Route des Essarts au Milthuit, taken at the driveway. Continue straight ahead, slightly to the right, and follow the path for 3310 m, along the N138 expressway. Continue until you reach a wooden forest barrier, Rue de la Pierre d'État.

(6) Go through the gate, turning left, for about 70 metres. Cross the road and take the small path opposite, just at the end of the safety barrier. Turn onto the first path on the left and go up the hill. At the first X-shaped crossroads, continue straight ahead, follow the path ignoring the paths on the left, and join the road, Rue du Madrillet.

(7) Turn right and pass under two bridges. Turn right and then immediately left to enter the woods. Follow the path on the right, climb the hill and continue until you reach a large open space. Continue straight ahead on slightly sandy ground and join the road, Rue Marcel Cavelier.

(8) Cross the roads, turn right, and at the roundabout, continue left onto Avenue des Canadiens. Pass in front of the Zénith Rouen Métropole. At the end of the Zénith enclosure, turn left, pass to the left of the restaurant, and continue to the road after the car park, Chemin de la Poudrière.

(9) Continue straight ahead, ignore the first left turn, and take the second left turn. After the last house, turn right onto a small path and follow the factory fence on the left. Take the first left, enter the Bois du Chêne à Leu and turn right. Follow the path downhill to the next opening on the right. Continue straight ahead and, after about 190 metres, turn right towards the gate.

(10) Exit the woods and, immediately after the barrier, turn left onto Allée du Chêne à Leu. Pass the boules court on your right and join the road, Avenue Georges Braque. Turn left and go down to the roundabout. Turn right onto Rue Henri de Toulouse Lautrec and go to the first left turn.

(11) Turn left, go straight ahead, pass the barrier and enter Bois Matisse. Follow the main path and, at the third turning on the right, turn to reach the exit of the woods. Join Rue Albert Lebourg, turn left and continue to the roundabout further on.

(12) Cross the road, continue straight ahead through the car park until you reach the T-junction. Enter the field opposite, Plaine Léon Blum, and follow the path on the left that crosses it. At Cani Parc, continue straight ahead, pass the playground, and reach the car park (S/E).
