Start from the car park at Place de l'Ecole in Rouffiac, just behind the church. The circuit is very well signposted, with additional information panels.
N.B. I suggest you do this loop in the opposite direction to that shown on the "Puech de Mourens" signs.
Yellow markings
(S/E) Head towards the town hall by taking the street on the right between the church and the school. At the first intersection at the cross, turn right and then follow the first dirt track on the left. At the next crossroads, continue left and, at the fork, keep right. At the end of the path, the tarmac road leads to Albiquié.
(1) At the Albiquié crossroads, continue straight ahead. Keep left to cross La Bousquié and reach Le Bourg. After the last houses in this hamlet, there are two superb dovecotes on the left side of the road.
(2) At the T-junction, turn right. Walk carefully along this section for about 500 metres. Cross the Route du Bosc Grand and take the dirt track opposite. At the second T-junction, turn left and cross the Rieumas stream.
(3) Pay attention at this junction and turn right, as this is the start of the section shared with the Carlus trail. Continue straight ahead until the end of this section.
(4) End of the shared section. Turn right onto the narrow path to come out onto a gravel path and cross the Rieumas stream again. At the end, the gravel gives way to a wide, gently sloping stony dirt track. At the fork, turn left for about 300 metres.
(5) Turn left before La Bousquié to climb through the woods towards Puech de Mourens. Keep heading south, ignoring the two paths that cross on the left and the two paths that cross on the right. The path leads to a tarmac road. At the T-junction, turn right towards the water tower. There is a viewpoint over Castenau-de-Lévis on the right and a view of the Pyrenees on the left on a clear day. Cross La Siège and, at the cross, turn left onto the dirt track.
(6) Before La Renaudié, turn right at the yellow direction marker painted on a small wooden post. This grassy path leads to the D31. Turn right onto the tarmac road to return to Rouffiac and the starting point (S/E).
