Park in the car park near the Church of L'Hermitière.
(S/E) Take the Route du Theil, which descends and passes in front of the castle. You will come to a crossroads where there is a stone calvary.
(1) Turn right onto a tarmac road. Continue along this road, which becomes a gravel track, passing La Motte aux Loup and then Les Bouleaux.
(2) Go straight on to reach Le Houx, where the path becomes tarmac again. You’ll come to a crossroads on a bend.
(3) Turn right onto a grassy track that climbs into the woods. Ignore the track continuing straight ahead into the woods and take the sunken track on the left which descends and passes between meadows after La Guiotière, leading onto a tarmac road (D638).
(4) Follow this road to the right, then turn left to reach the village of Gémages.
(5) Opposite the church, take the dirt track and follow it to a wide stony path.
(6) Turn left onto it and arrive at a place called La Princerie. Continue straight on along the dirt track, which leads to a large farmhouse typical of the Perche region at a place called La Vieille Rosière.
(7) Turn right to follow the tarmac road which passes between the buildings and climbs up to the Bois Sentier crossroads.
(8) Turn left onto a small path that descends, passes several traditional Perche dwellings and joins a tarmac road at the hamlet of Gripe Denier.
(9) Follow this road for a few metres and immediately turn left onto a small path that runs between the houses of the small hamlet of La Vaubraie. The path becomes overgrown with grass and skirts the fortified farm of La Rosière. Continue along this path, reaching La Filochère via a steep climb, then quickly reach the crossroads of the road in the hamlet of Les Rieux.
(10) Cross this road and follow the tarmac path opposite leading to the Angenardière manor house.
(11) Turn back and, about fifty metres before the previous crossroads, take the small dirt track on the right. Follow it to a tarmac road, turn right onto it and head towards the former priory and the Perche Ecomuseum in Sainte-Gauburge. Take the time to explore the village and its beautiful houses.
(12) Take the Route de Gemages (south) and follow it to a wide track leading to the hamlet of La Cointrie.
(13) Pass the hamlet on your right and follow the tarmac road to the left. Walk past the Hauts Royaux farm and keep left at the fork to reach La Gadoisière.
(14) Continue straight ahead on the dirt track which passes La Fosse au Chat, becomes tarmac and joins a road (D211).
(15) Take this road on the left with care and, before reaching Panloup, take the path on the right. You will reach the crossroads just after the Chemin de la Gennetière.
(16) Turn right onto a stony track that passes in front of La Crônerie and the Hôtel Reno, heads uphill into the woods and joins a wide forest lane. Follow it to the right until you emerge from the woods at the houses of Le Champ au Theil.
(17) Just after a house on the left, turn right onto a path that descends steeply, passes a house and joins a tarmac road (D636) at Grand Clos.
(18) Cross the road carefully and follow the tarmac path which climbs between the houses, turns to gravel and then to dirt, and enters the woods. Continue along the main path until you reach a gravel track at a place called Les Vaux Mignons.
(19) Turn right and follow the path, which becomes tarmac as you approach the houses and leads onto the D107 road.
(20) Keep it on your right and immediately turn right onto the Route de l’Hermitière. Return to the original junction.
(1) Turn right back onto the outward route to quickly reach the starting car park (S/E).
