The walk starts from the small village of Arpavon. Go up the main street, cross the village, park above the village (car park) or just after the small cemetery, on the left-hand side of the road (two or three spaces on the hard shoulder).
(S/E) Take the path opposite the cemetery, then the track that climbs immediately to the left. The path appears to be private and leads to a house (under construction on the day of the hike), but it then goes past it.
(1) At the fork, ignore the path on the right and stay left on the red/yellow and yellow marked trail that climbs, sometimes in the open, sometimes through woods, and always along the ridge. Reach a flat area.
(2) The hardest part of the hike is now behind you! Continue through the meadows and boxwood trees before descending.
(3) Don't miss this small crossroads, marked only by a small cairn, and take the track that descends to the right.
Then follow the small, well-marked path along the contour line.
(4) Leave the path on your right and continue straight ahead to reach a track. Turn left, pass a small pass offering a view of the village of Poët-Sigillat, then descend via the very steep track. You will arrive at a crossroads (GR® La Combe d'Arnaud signpost) where the track joins the path linking Poët-Sigillat and Arpavon.
(5) Turn right. From here, the route stays on this path. You will reach a small terraced field, ideal for a picnic.
(6) Continue straight ahead, heading south-west, to the Col de Goudon, where you will find theGRP® du Tour des Baronnies (red/yellow markings).
(7) Be careful to turn right, otherwise you will descend towards Sainte-Jalle. Stay on the main path, ignoring the paths branching off on either side.
(8) After passing a farm building, turn left at the fork. Then stay on this very obvious path, which is also marked red/yellow, until you reach the starting point (S/E).
