(S/E) From the small square between the church and the town hall, climb the stairs on the west corner of the town hall, following theGR®36. Turn right and follow the alley to a cross. Continue for about 15 metres to reach the Rec du Cuin path and continue to a fork. Continue on the right-hand path to a footbridge.
(1) Cross it over the Rec du Cuin stream. After the footbridge, turn right onto the Chemin du Roquo d'Astié. After a balcony section offering a beautiful view of the village, you will reach a fork.
(2) Turn left, leaving the paths on the right. The path climbs steeply, first through heathland, then under stunted beech trees, before emerging at Roquo d'Astié, which offers a beautiful view of the valley and, beyond, the Pyrenees. Continue climbing along a long straight section.
(3) Cross the small D87 road twice, climb a few hundred metres more to reach the summit of Pic de Nore, recognisable by its antennas and large red and white pylon.
Descend towards the north-west.
(4) Join the path that branches off at a bend in the road (viewpoint) and continue to a fork (altitude 1,158 m).
(5) Take the path on the left that descends alongside a pine forest to an elevation of 1038 metres.
(6) Leave the main path on your right and continue downhill. This path crosses two paths coming from the right, then a third at the bottom of the valley, which also leads to "la Cabane d'Hélène" on the edge of a path marked in yellow (PR®).
After visiting the hut, climb up the old marked path on the right to the pass (altitude 1,029 m).
(8) Continue to the left. At the crossroads, turn right towards the menhirs.
(9) Continue to the viewpoints over the Mazamet valley. After visiting the menhirs, retrace your steps and take the path on the right which crosses an open moor.
(10) Leave this path and head towards the Roc du Nouret. From the summit (altitude 1,073 m), join the marked path heading east and turn right. After a long, fairly stony descent, cross a first path (altitude 929 m) and arrive at a crossroads.
(11) Turn left over the stream crossing made of large slabs, where you will see a stone cross. This path, lined with vertical stone walls, passes close to the ruins of old ice houses, which are not to be missed (some are a little way from the path). After a fountain, cross the D87 road, continue on the Côte de Pech path and continue on the Grand Rue to arrive at the starting point (S/E).
