To return to the starting point in Pradelles, take the RD87 towards Pic de Nore. Park at the edge of the village (space for a maximum of two cars) above the cemetery and opposite the path to the ice house.
(S/E) Head west along the stony path, which shows signs of having been used by horse-drawn ploughs.
You will see a blocked stone entrance on your right. Continue on to reach an ice house and then the crossroads.
(1) Turn right and follow the sign for Castangs.
Climb gradually up the stony path lined with holm oaks, broom and junipers, which characterise the Mediterranean landscape. After a wide circular route to the left, you will reach a remarkable viewpoint overlooking the Pyrenees in the distance and the wind turbines much closer by.
(2) Continue along this path to quickly reach the summit of Roc du Nouret, marked by a cairn.
(3) Begin a short descent to reach a path that is almost perpendicular.
(4) Take it on the left and follow the direction: Menhir.
From here, the landscape changes and becomes more mountainous.
Cross the Bois du Nouret and further on you will find a wide track, also perpendicular to the path.
(5) Turn left onto this track. Follow the almost horizontal path to reach the Ruines des Bayours.
(6) Leave the track and take the path on the left. Stay on this path to reach the crossroads of the circular route at Les Glacières.
(1) Follow the same route back to the car park.
(S/E) Enter the village of Pradelles-Cabardés via the Cote de Pech. Turn right onto Rue La Cote and continue to the junction with Route de Carcassonne.
(7) Cross it and take Chemin du Pijoula to Lac de Pradelle.
(8) Walk along the left side of the lake.
(9) Cross the Arnette and walk around the lake, then return by the same route and follow the same itinerary to rejoin Route de Carcassonne.
(7) Take it on the left with caution, turn right onto the Route du Pic de Nore. Cut across the field to return to the car park where you started (S/E).
