To reach the car park:
- coming from Montélimar, take the D11 towards Rochemaure, cross the bridge over the Rhône Canal. At the bottom of the bridge on the right, there are a few parking spaces
- coming from Rochemaure, go through the roundabout on the D86, head towards Montélimar and cross the bridge over the Rhône. Continue for about 100 metres and park on the left.
Be careful not to obstruct the opening of the barrier.
(S/E) Go through the barrier and take Chemin de l'Île de la Conférence. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead towards the Himalayan footbridge. Take this bridge and continue until you reach the railway bridge. Continue until you reach the N86. Cross this road carefully to reach Rue du Pêcheur, then Rue du Faubourg. Turn right, then left onto Chemin de Gaudissart. Go uphill to reach Chemin du Château and cross it to take the path towards Chapelle Notre-Dame des Anges, marked with white and yellow signs. You will come to a crossroads.
(1) Turn left and you will soon reach the Notre-Dame des Anges Chapel. Turn right and cross the road. Continue straight ahead to reach the medieval castle.
(2) Turn left and continue to follow the white and yellow markings. Cross the Ravin de Rignas stream and continue uphill to reach a track.
(3) Take it on the left to reach Ravin de Malaterre. Continue climbing and then join theGR®42at the Malatere signpost.
(4) Turn left and follow the white and red markings on the track, which becomes a tarmac road. Continue until you reach another crossroads.
(5) Leave theGR® here and turn right towards Merlet and Aubignas. The markings change back to white and yellow. After about 100 metres, you will come to another crossroads. Continue straight ahead. Pass a large oak tree marked with white and yellow markings, then turn right onto the small path uphill (a few steps made of logs and stones) passing through oak trees, junipers and broom. You will then reach a crossroads in a clearing.
(6) Turn right onto the large uphill path towards the hunting lookout to reach the Pic de Chenavari.
(7) Return in the opposite direction to the previous crossroads.
(6) Turn right downhill towards the power lines, follow the grassy track on the right and, at a left-hand bend, take a small path to join the stony track and the Ferme de Chenevari.
(8) Continue along this path to reach the Chemin de Sauzet crossroads.
(9) Turn right onto the tarmac road, pass the Chaguet, Vigneaux and Hauricou hiking posts to reach the hamlet of Les Videaux.
(10) Turn right onto Chemin des Videaux. At house number 959, continue along the grassy path that descends towards Le Château. Join the tarmac road and turn right. At the Saint-Laurent hiking signpost, turn left towards the château. Ignore the road on the right that leads to the château car park, keep left on the Sentier du Saut de l'Âne, marked in white and yellow, and return to the initial crossroads you passed on the way there.
(1) Retrace your steps to return to the D11 car park (S/E).
