Description of the walk

Park at the Alayrac car park, Place Aleyrac.

(S/E) Walk past the town hall annexe on the left, then turn left onto Rue Cuiraterie. Take the third street on the left to come out onto Rue Pée de Colas, then take a quick right and left to join Rue Mitton, which leads onto Boulevard du Fust.

(1) Follow the boulevard to the right until you reach the pedestrian crossing; cross over and walk alongside the car park to reach the banks of the Roubion. Head right towards the footbridge.

(2) Just after the footbridge, on its right-hand side, go down the stairs towards the Voie Verte cycle path, which you’ll follow to your right until you pass under the bridge. Just after the bridge, leave the Voie Verte on the right to join the avenue.

(3) Turn right and cross the Pont Saint-Pierre.

(4) Just after the bridge, turn right towards the car park, which you’ll cross in its entirety to reach the path running alongside the Roubion. Go under the bypass bridge.

(5) Carry on straight ahead, keeping as close as possible to the Roubion, and continue until you reach the Rhône Canal.

(6) Turn left onto the path closest to the canal and carry on straight for about 800 metres.

(7) At the picnic tables, where you can take a short break, turn left and turn round, following the path below which runs parallel to the one you took on the way there.

(8) Cross the small footbridge to make your way back along the path running parallel to the one you took on the way there, situated below. Before reaching the road, turn left to join it.

(5) Turn right and retrace your steps along the path you took on the way there until you reach the Pont Saint-Pierre.

(4) Turn left and cross the bridge again.

(3) Cross the avenue at the pedestrian crossing and follow the Quai du Roubion to the footbridge.

(2) Carry on straight ahead, join Boulevard du Fust and follow it to the right.

(1) Go straight on, then turn left to reach Place Aleyrac and the car park (S/E)

A very pleasant walk, thanks to the peace and quiet away from the city and the route along the Roubion and the Rhône Canal, surrounded by nature.
A very easy, flat route.
In summer, however, it must get very hot as there is little shade.
