Le Cros - Refuge de la Blanche

Park in the car park opposite the Cros houses before the villages of Le Raux and Saint-Véran.

(S) Opposite the car park, take the path that leads to the Pont du Moulin, cross the Aygue Blanche to reach a crossroads of paths.

(1) Take the path on the left (signposted "Pont Vieux") which climbs slightly before joining a wider track. Take this track on the left and you will easily reach the Pont Vieux crossroads.

(2) Here you will rejoin the^GR®58coming down from Saint-Véran. Follow this^GR® (red and white markings) and continue along the left bank of the stream. You will arrive at the trail junction below the old copper mine.

(3) Take the path on the right (signposted "Chapelle de Clausis") and follow the winding path to the bridge over the stream.

(4) Cross over to stay on the^GR®58and begin a short climb to reach the Rocher des Marrous crossroads.

(5) Turn right onto a^PR® trail marked in yellow (leaving the^GR®58on your left towards the Col de Chamoussière). Follow the long, almost flat path to the Blanche trail junction.

(6) Turn 90° right onto the path, also marked in yellow, and follow the excellent descent to easily reach the Refuge de la Blanche (E).

There are a few fountains along the route, particularly near the Pont Vieux.
