Description of the walk

Park in the church square.

(S/E) Take Rue du Clos Guérin, the street opposite the small supermarket (hiking sign). At the end of the street, turn right and cross Square des Peupliers. Turn left onto Rue des Chênes then continue by taking the first left, Cité des Guérais. Continue along the grassy path.

(1) Cross the bridge and climb the short, steep slope. Follow the path to the left as far as Ville Simon.

(2) At the crossroads, keep left onto Rue du Sabre. At the first crossroads, take the road on the left, Rue Gabrielle Glé, and continue to the second junction.

(3) Turn right, cross the D786 road with care and continue along Route des Basses Saudrais. At the bend, carry straight on along the grassy path to La Duché.

(4) Turn left as you leave the hamlet, then turn right at the crossroads, heading towards La Ville ès Prêtres.
.
(5) Turn onto the path on the right and follow it to the bridge over the Floubalay.

(6) Do not cross it, but turn left and continue along the seafront: be careful, as this section can be slippery.

(7) Leaving the seafront, take the path that crosses the meadows. When you reach the road, turn left towards the house with the red roof. At the house, take the road on the right towards the hamlet of Bel Être.

(8) Take the path on the right, which will lead you to La Ville Asselin. Keep to the right and continue to the junction with the D 768. Cross the road carefully as there is no pedestrian crossing and take Rue de la Gicquelais opposite.

(9) At La Gicquelais, turn left into Rue de la Ville au Breton. At Ville au Breton, continue along the road branching off to the left towards La Patenais. Pass through the hamlet.

(10) Leave the road and take the path towards La Noë. At La Noë, turn left into Rue de la Neuville until you reach Rue du Perdriel. Turn right onto this street for a few dozen metres, then cross it to take the path that runs between the houses. When you reach the D2, cross over to join Rue de Dinan.
.
(11) Turn right, go to the end, then turn onto the path on the left. Follow the signposts to the junction with a road.

(12) Turn left, towards Les Haies.

(13) Turn left (horse riding symbol on a telephone pole) and head down past the oak trees. At the bottom of the field, take the path on the right to the bridge crossing the road. Go under the bridge and continue along the river.

(1) At the crossroads, turn left onto the same path as on the way out and return to the starting point (S/E).

The dyke is interrupted between points 6 and 7; it must be cut on the land side

Lack of signage throughout the hike. Without the app, it would have been impossible to complete.
On the way back, we passed through the Beaussais tree-top adventure park and couldn't find the right path even with the app. We had to ask the park staff for help.
The red dots on the app clearly indicate a collapsed dyke, but there are no signs prohibiting passage, so we had to turn back at an impassable point.

A fairly varied route (woodland, seaside). An important point already mentioned: the sea wall has been permanently closed off. You must therefore take the inland path. Superb views of the St Jacut peninsula.
Thanks to Visorando for their work.

As previously mentioned here, it is no longer possible to walk along the polders between points 6 and 7, as the dyke protecting the low-lying fields – built by the monks of Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer – has been breached by the Conservatoire du Littoral. The aim is to allow the sea to reclaim its natural area of expansion.
It should be noted that at point 6, the sign prohibiting access to this area is no longer displayed, which leads walkers to venture in vain.

The route is no longer passable between points 6 and 7 and will remain so, as the sea wall bordering Lancieux Bay at that point has collapsed and will not be rebuilt.

A very pleasant walk, but the route didn’t quite match up, particularly around the bay where we had to turn back. Perhaps because of the tide?
